Hi ladies, I know a few of us will be attending RWA’s conference this year. There is an issue this year that I feel should be addressed. A friend of mine, a GH finalist, has had stalker issues in the past. This is not a randomly harassing kind of scenario but a full-blown, out-of-control, fear-for-your-life stalker. This GH finalist contacted RWA and asked that her image and name not be used on the website to protect her anonymity and WAS DENIED! I can’t believe that. Isn’t her safety more important than advertising the GH? She thinks so and she is the one who most benefits from the publicity. Please take the time to visit the site of The White Ribbon Campaign to learn more and also the blog of author Alison Kent (unrelated to the GH finalist - she’s already multi-published). RWA is there to support romance authors, not endanger them.

I finally got the rss thing figured out after e-mailing the writer of the script. It still doesn’t validate properly, but that is another problem that I will save for another day. In the meantime it works on aggregators so that’s enough for now. I hate it when I get a bee in my bonnet. I can’t let it go.
Tomorrow I will have to tear myself away from the keyboard and clean my house. I was in a typing frenzy all week and so my house has suffered. But we’ll all pitch in as a family and get done in a couple of hours so I can get back to work!
I’ll need to start my medieval research soon. If anyone has some suggested reading I’d appreciate it. Like I said in an earlier entry I use history as wallpaper so it doesn’t have to be too detailed or extensive. I need just general descriptions of clothing, furnishings, architechture, musical instruments, and foods. My town has been promising to build a new library for years. In the meantime the one we have is tiny! *wrinkling my nose*
Also I’ve seen a few topics lately regarding erotica vs erotic romance. People seem to be slightly confused over the definitions. So I’ll refer you to the side bar to the right. You’ll find a link there to Kathryn Anne Dubois, a Red Sage Secrets author. She has a great article on her site about the differences in meaning and genres. If you have trouble getting it through the above link (AOL gives me trouble with it) just go to her main page, then her coming soon page and scroll to the bottom.
