“Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves, or we know where we can find information on it.”~Samuel Johnson

I’m too tired to write much, but I did find this thread on Lori Foster’s message board interesting.

Poster hkdimon (H.K. Dimon (HelenKay Dimon)) wrote this about the RWA conference:

Having the opportunity to hear from editors is a big plus. On one panel, Jennifer Enderlin (St. Martin’s), Maggie Crawford (Pocket - I think) and someone from Avon (I would have to dig out my notes to figure it out) were talking about how they would all like to see suspense. Good suspense. The problem is that what they get hasn’t been great - but they’re all looking. Jennifer talked about how she was looking for a high-concept book and something that wowed her. The Avon lady said she wasn’t the one to query if you had a futuristic or paranormal because she “doesn’t get it” whereas Maggie and a guy from Dorchester (Chris Kesslar) talked about how much they loved that stuff.”

Always nice to know what the editors are looking for right now! :satisfied:

    Thanks for the info, Sidonie!

  2. Sidonie says:

Erika Tsang is the Avon editor that likes paranormals. Monique Patterson is also another at SMP that likes historicals and chick-lit and paranormals. :)
