Today I heard from two separate authors that the market for historical romanticas is on a downward slide. Can I say I was crushed?
I was.
I have two finished historical romanticas. Together, they total over 70,000 words of my blood, sweat, and dreams. Not that I’ve given up on selling them, I just realized that as hard as I imagined it would be to sell them, it’s going to be even harder than that. So, willing to take drastic measures…
“Wanted: loving house for two wonderful historical romantica novellas. Included are great plots, to-die-for sexy heroes, smart take-no-prisoners heroines, and love stories to swoon over. Cared for from conception by a hard-working author with some talent. Up-to-date on shots, have papers. Please make “The Call” for more information - Sylvia@SylviaDay.com .“

LOL–I wish I was a publisher, because your ad makes me want to call!

by Steph T. August 25th, 2004 at 10:56 amthe ad is too cute. But really, I wouldn’t worry about what people say about the market. If a book is good it will sell, regardless of the genre.
Don’t worry, I have faith that you will sell. Your stories are awesome.
