I’m feeling pretty good right now. This is due in part to a variety of things.
First and foremost: my dinner. I was bad and didn’t eat dinner and cut right to dessert. Chocolate Brownie Overload. Hot fudge, chucks of brownie, chocolate ice cream, whipped cream, and sprinkled with toasted almonds. Yummy!
I can attest to the recuperative powers of chocolate!
Second: My inbox was packed today. I have no idea what’s up, but my mailing list has been getting hit a lot the last two days and the message board too. End of month or something? Anyway, it made me happy, things like that do.
Third: My daughter turned three at the start of this month and her personality has just grown in leaps and bounds. She’s a delight, a riot, a sweetheart! We have such fun together, talking and painting toenails and laughing about silly stuff.
Fourth: I was contacted by a favorite author of mine today. I was thrilled.
Thrilled!
Fifth: Kate Duffy replied to a thread I’d started (quite by accident) and said that Brava loves historicals, but doesn’t get near enough of them submitted!! (You know how excited that made me. )
Now, of course, I didn’t do much as far as writing is concerned, but just as I was about to despair of accomplishing anything, one of my cp’s returned a crit!! Yay. :hehe: So even though I haven’t actually written today, I’ll still be getting something done by going over the crit and tweaking my ms.
Oh and Sixth: my new fridge arrived today!! A huge relief. My other one just died on us one day. We’ve been using the freezer side as a fridge and lost everything we had frozen (a lot of meat
) BestBuy was backordered on our fridge so we’ve been pretty much without food for over a week. I’m certain you can imagine the strain. It sucked.
The only blight in my day is this niggling sensation in the back of my mind that I should be accomplishing so much more than I have, that I should have something to show for everything related to my writing. I love it when people sign up for the mailing list, I love it when someone new posts on the message board, but then I feel I should have something to offer in return. Something besides just… me. You know? As it is, I’ve got months to wait until my Arabella story comes out and after that… well, I better get off here and finish polishing my latest solicited ms. Possibly, that is the insistent niggling.

Thank you for your comments about my daughter, Marguerite! She really is adorable. My son just started kindergarten a couple of weeks ago, so I can relate to what you’re going through with your son.
Cece, it’s nutty. It’s my own fault too. I’m stuck on one little scene. It’s a fight scene and that’s the problem, I’ve never written one before. I just need to bite the bullet!

Alison’s right it shouldn’t be all about the writing but at the the same time I can relate to all the self-induced pressure you feel.
I think we all get that way

Just dropping in to say thanks for letting me in your webring.
and it doesn’t have to be all about writing :D. Oh by the way your daughter is adorable. I have a three year old little boy and I too marvel at the little personality he’s getting. Hard to believe he’s starting preschool soon though
