I’m surprised by how many of us in our little blog circle wrote about snarky women and poisonous listservs. I haven’t gotten into that scene yet and from what I’ve read today, I don’t believe I will. I’m insecure enough as it is on my own. I don’t need any help.
And I agree with Stephanie, I think our blog circle is fab!! A great source of support and advice for me. What a wealth of talent I stumbled into and not a day goes by that I am not hugely appreciative to know you all! *hugs* ![]()

Aphrodite-Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love
and beauty. There are two basic versions of her
birth. According to one, she was the daughter
of Zeus and Dione. According to the other she
was born from the foam on the sea where the
genitals of Uranus, cut off by his son Cronus,
landed.
In the story of the Trojan War, the Trojan Paris
awarded Aphrodite the apple of discord after
judging her to be the most beautiful of the
goddesses. She then sided with the Trojans
throughout the war.
Aphrodite was the most beautiful of the goddesses,
but was married to the ugliest of the gods, the
limp smithy Hephaestus. She had many affairs
with men, both human and divine.

I hate to say it but i’ve made friends on some lists but for the most part never found a list home. I love the STruggling WRiters thread on eHarl but otherwise I’m extremely happy with our little group, too.
I enjoy my yahoogroups and listserves. They give me a chance to connect with other writers seeing as how I’m not a member of the RWA. They also give me chances to network with others–and having published authors as members doesn’t hurt either. *g* Overall, I’ve had good experiences with the women in the groups.
I didnt; mean to sound like I was making all women snarky!
I was trying to get across how all women tend to compete with each other, even unintentionally. It’s like an instinct or something. Especially when you get a group together, like the dozen women I work with!
