Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder.

After requesting a partial of my GO winning manuscript from a synopsis, an agent returned it today with a very nice personalized rejection. The reason given? The marketing prospects. Hmmm… :???: Was I disappointed? Certainly. Did I wonder if I’ll ever get published? Definitely. But then I reminded myself that everything happens for a reason.

There is the possibility that I’ll never get published. I’ve heard “You’re on the verge.” “You’re *thisclose*.” But how do you know? *scratching head* Contests, as we are all aware, mean nothing. I asked myself today, Are you okay with not getting published? And the answer was, Hell no!! I’m not okay with that. LOL  But there’s nothing I can do about it besides write, so…

I started a new story today. It’s a little bit weird, since I’ve been editing for so long. I feel a bit rusty, truth be told. But this is a short story so I should be alright once I get back in the groove. (I hope I’m alright. It’s like riding a bike, isn’t it? )

On a personal note, I am insane. Yep. Certifiable. I have yet to go Christmas shopping. I haven’t purchased one gift. Not one. I have a 13 yr old step-son, a five year old son, and a three year old daughter. And not one gift. What the heck is the matter with me? I need to get gifts!!!

((((Sylvia))))) on teh R–sounds like a good excuse for a trip to On the Border!

I haven’t bought any presents either and guess what? This is my weekend with kids and next weekend is um yeah that special holiday where kids get you up at the crack of dawn’s ass and open up hundreds of dollars worth of presents in like 15 seconds flat :???:

  2. Teresa in GA says:

(((Hugs))) on the R. That just stinks! And good for you on starting that other story!

  3. Larissa says:

Sorry about the rejection, but remember, it’s just ONE measly agent. Don’t worry about it. Send it to more. Agents and editors are a crap shoot!

Good luck with the Christmas shopping.

Steph, you’re just asking for me to shove this candy cane in your, um, stocking. Yeah. That’s it. Stocking.

  4. Sasha says:

I’m sorry to hear about the R Sylvia! Just keep at it. Perseverance is key!

    And Steph…stop handing Jake out!!!

  5. Steph T. says:

{{{Hugs}}} on the R. ( Sounds like you’re handling things beautifully but I could send both Nick and his bottle AND Jake and his cookies if needed:wink:)

And welcome to my world with the Christmas shopping or lack thereof - I should’ve started with the online shopping stuff earlier but now it’s all spiraled out of control and I’m stuck with the mall. Let’s blame Larissa…
