Thank you, Ellen and Larissa, for your encouraging comments. They actually help a lot!! It helps bolster my courage to know that other people think I’m getting somewhere. It would really suck to be the only one.
And you’re right, Cece. It is a great article and writing is a craft that must be honed. I learn more and more every day, but I have to admit, some of the things I’ve learned could easily have been taught with a minute or two of an editor or agent’s time. I wish more of them did that.
Great article! you know I had to blog about it writing is like sex…the more you do, the better you get it at …okay maybe I should have said exercise LOL
This article doesn’t apply to you, Sylvia. Why? Because you WRITE. The one percent who do get their books published are the ones who’ve learned the only way to write is to apply the rump to the chair and the fingers to the keyboard and actually write. Eventually, through sheer repetition, they get good enough to sell their stuff. Lots of people moan about how they want to be writers, but they never actually finish anything. (I used to be one of these people:-). They’ll never be writers until they learn to write a book from beginning to end and polish it. You’re there already.
I really believe you are going to sell. Soon. Hang in there!
"Sylvia Day is the undisputed mistress of tender, erotic romance. Her books are a luxury every woman deserves."
