Ya know… I think story #2 is finally coming together. We’ll see what my cp says. I’m moving past the beginning now and getting onto the rest of the ms. The edits from this point on hopefully won’t be too bad. I love the middle of the story and most of the end so I think it should be alright. Wish me luck.
Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive to me on this blog. It means a lot to me. I worried about revealing all of my insecurities, thinking you guys might find me ungrateful, when in fact I’m so grateful I’m floored with it! But I wanted to be honest about my fears, if only for the record of it. Hopefully, I’ll look back on these posts one day and admire myself for pulling through it somehow.
On another note, the second of my GH confirmations arrived in my inbox today. I’m so grateful I entered, since I’m not eligible to enter ever again. I sent in one ms, that while it’s my personal favorite, features a heroine that is “not indicitive of a romance heroine”. It doesn’t stand a chance in hell, but I entered it because I thought, “Maybe, just maybe, I’ll sell something and I won’t get to enter again.” And thankfully, I was correct. Even if nothing comes of either entry at least I can say that I entered the GH. Which just goes to show that you should never put anything off for another day. You never know when life as you know it is going to change.
Okay, never mind–you’re right! You can enter a novella in the RITA, though!

Good luck on the GH! But…are you sure you won’t be eligible? Don’t the rules state that you can’t be published in novel-length fiction? And since your stories are novellas, does that count, even if you have three in one book? You might be able to skirt the rules if you aren’t eligible for PAN for the same reason.
Of course, you’ll probably have sold an ST by then anyway, but then look at it this way…you’ll be eligible for the RITA!

There’s nothing wrong with showing your insecurities. It just proves you’re human. God knows I’m riddled with them. LOL!
Good for you for the GH. I never managed to do that one before I sold. Fingers crossed.
