And I’m still remembering things I discussed with my editor during the call I got on Day #2! Jees, I tell you my brain is fried.
We talked about marketing, advertising, Romantic Times, and reviews. We talked about ARCs and author copies (I’ll get 50, so expect some contests and giveaways!! Too fun. 
)
Thanks to the heads-up from Alison, I contacted Kate today and double checked that the Black Lace short won’t conflict with my contract. It won’t. First, it’s too short and second it’s a contemporary. (Yep. My first ever.) I’m a historical author for Brava so other genres don’t really conflict, though Kate said if I have ideas for other things, run them by her. Another lesson learned about being under contract. You must check in with your editor.
My mom cleaned my house today. Top to bottom. Toilets and walls. Man, I love her. She’s so awesome for doing that. She says, “Make a lot of money writing and I’ll retire and come take care of your house and kids.” Wouldn’t that be nice? Thankfully, she has a ways to go before retirement. LOL I told her, “That’s lovely, Mom. But don’t hold your breath.” 
I miss my gym and I’m not eating good. If I don’t watch it, I’m going to get fat. 
So I’ll have to venture out this weekend and stock up on healthy, sitting-in-a-chair-all-day snacks. And sleep. I need sleep…
I know when (thinking possitive) I get the call I’m gonna go blank LOL so I really do appreciate this. Some of it is stuff I’ve thought of but getting it first hand is just…priceless

I’m glad you’re finding this information useful. As someone new to this business, there were so many questions I had and so many things I wanted to know and I couldn’t find the answers anywhere. When I visit Lydia, I spend my time as the “kitchen fairy.” Lydia loves to cook (as her recipies show), but she hates to clean up.
We have the same deal you have with your mom: when she makes it rich as a author, she’ll build us a house on the lot across the street. Her dad and I will retire and babysit/clean/honey-do for her.
So, all the moms out there say–buy our daughters’ books so we can retire and take care of them
