I received final approval on my Black Lace story today, which brings with it a sigh of relief. *sigh*
In between edits to Lucien, I’ve been updating the website. My poor webdesigner. Every time she thinks she’s done with me, at least for a while, I come back to haunt her again.
I need some more gifs, namely “Order Now” gifs. So exciting!
I’ve also been working on getting my name out there and introducing myself to readers and other authors. The absolutely amazing and wonderful thing is the Brava Authors. They’ve been wonderful with their e-mails and support and offers for help. I think I’ve heard from the majority of them (though nowhere near all of them) and I consider myself extremely lucky to join their group.
So that’s where I am so far today.
2005 is going to be a BIG year for the Write or Die group. I keep thinking that in a few years, we’ll still be the WORD group, but all big names. Hopefully we’ll still be a tight bunch. Think of the promos we could do together. We could buy two-page spreads in RT and RWR, sharing the financial burden. (I can see the spread in my mind! Of course by then our publishers may be doing such things for us.) We could do signings together, attend conferences together. Good grief we’d have so much fun and be able to get so much accomplished.
Ahhh… the dreams that sustain us.

LOL Maili!! No offense taken.
No, Sylvia Day is the name I’m sticking with.
People have been misspelling it my entire life, but really I love my name and I’ve been told it’s easy to remember. I hope that’s true. (Also less letters in the name = bigger print to fit the cover.
)
Lisa Kleypas has complained that her last name is often misspelled, but she’s still glad she used it.
I spoke with Kate about author names. I told her I write futuristics and paranormals too, all under the same name and she said that is the way to go. One name, multiple personalities. She says “schizophrenia” as an author is a must in today’s publishing industry.
Personally, if I changed my name I would never answer to it. I could just see it…
“[insert pen name here] is the rudest author!! I saw her at the convention and called out to her and she just strolled right by. She didn’t even look at me.”
That would be me.
Speaking of getting your name out, are you going to stick with the name or will you have a pen name?
I confess that I constantly misspell your name as, for me, Sylvia is one of most difficult names to memorise. Even though it’s one of quite popular names in England. [How embarrassing is that?]
Anyway, hence the question.
[Ack! Just realised - I mean no offence. If I did offend you, I'm sorry!]
…get into so much trouble together…
Sounds like a plan to me!
You’ll have to wait until I’m back in state for that!!! *g* But, yeah, I’ll do it…
