Anyone know how to read German? (At least I think it’s German.) I would love to know what it is Melody said about my blog-design. ![]()

As Alison ponders the usefulness of the RWA for career-focused authors, I have just signed up for two special interest chapters. This will be my first foray into joining a chapter. I’m hoping the experiences are good ones. I’ve been a PRO member of the RWA for almost a year and will need to renew shortly since I have two entries in the Golden Heart. Then of course I’ll renew in 2006 because my book will out (hopefully more than one!) and then again in 2007 so I can enter in the RITAs. (Wow, it’s a trip to think that I’ll still be doing things with this anthology two years from now!
) I’m hoping joining these chapters will increase the worth of my membership in the RWA and by that I mean I hope I’ll get more out of it. So far I’ve gotten contest wins and the RWR (which has given me a lot of useful information), but that’s it. I’m hoping that by becoming more active, I’ll reap some more benefits.
In the meantime, I’m avidly paying attention to the multitude of complaints I’ve been hearing about the RWA and I’m glad I have friends willing to take the time to expain their POV.
For the first time in months I am back to writing from scratch. I was so nervous about it, because while I was editing very few new ideas came to me. I’m relieved to realize my imagination hasn’t completely deserted me.
I’m also back on the Great Agent Hunt. I hope I’m luckier this time than I have been in the past. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them. Of course NY publishing seems to have shut down until the New Year, but I still have to make the push. Time is of the essence.
I’m sick, sick, sick, but pots of coffee seem to counteract the cold medicine. I can’t afford to be sick right now.
Some great resolutions are going up on the message board. We’ll all work hard to keep each other on track. May 2005 be a fabulous year for us all!!
Congratulations to Larissa on the publishing of her story!! A sign of great things to come for her. ![]()
I caught sinusitus.
With antibiotics and Advil Cold and Sinus, I have medicine head and a raw nose from tissues.
At least I have my new flannel pjs…

This year, all my Christmas wishes came true.
My contract arrived Christmas Eve, Christmas dinner with my hubby’s family was wonderful as always, and the kids were pleased with everything they received. I asked for nothing in the way of presents this year. Aside from a laptop, which I’ll be buying next month, I didn’t need or want a darn thing. Hubby wanted to get me something anyway so he bought me some flannel pjs. I adore them and I’ve been wearing them all day.
Tomorrow my Mom comes over to celebrate Christmas because she had to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So we’ll get to enjoy the holiday for one more day.
I finished the edits to story #2 just a moment ago. Overall, I’m fairly pleased with the outcome. I’m setting it aside for a week or two while I work on story #3 and then I’ll go back and hopefully catch all the stuff I missed. Maybe it’s because I’m a pantser, but I can write a story in no time at all, but to get it to where I’m happy with it takes me several edits.
I’m hoping that as I become a better writer, I’ll be able to cut down on that editing time.
I’m wishing you the best Christmas ever, a day filled with a lot of laughter and time spent with loved ones.
A very Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

![]() Gee, if I could only Have my two front teeth, Then I could wish you “Merry Christmas.” At Christmas, you are a happy soul who’s easy to please. |
I’m wishing everyone a safe, relaxing Christmas Eve!!
I’m still finishing up the edits to story #2. I’m in the last ten pages, but I’ll have to rewrite a lot of it. I hope to get that done today. We’ll see. I still need stocking stuffers for Hubby and then there’s Christmas dinner at my SIL’s house. But I’m going to try.
I recently enjoyed a great article in the December RWR. It’s titled “I’m Doomed.”: Confessions of the (Choke) Writing Process.
