Almost done.

I’m almost done with edits to story #2, just a dozen pages left and I’ll finish them tomorrow. Then I’m going to take the rest of the day off and get my house in order, which should be fairly easy since my mom just scrubbed the whole thing. I may take off Christmas Eve too, I haven’t decided yet. We’ll have Christmas dinner with family on Christmas Eve (at my SIL’s house) and then Christmas Day we just stay home and lounge around in our pjs all day. I’m thinking I’ll get to work on story #3 then.

Just before New Years I’ll open up story #2 again and run through it one more time before sending it off. Scary, scary, scary.

How’s everyone doing with the Christmas plans? Are you ready? Are you excited? What is the number one thing you want?

I have the title of my Brava book…

And I hope to God that one day I’ll be able to talk to my editor on the phone without turning into a blathering idiot.

She swears she doesn’t notice a thing. (Yeah right!)

Gateway to the Rest… I won!!

 I just found out that I won the historical category of the Gateway to the Rest contest. Good grief. Kelly Harms picked me to win… again.

Jees. I’m totally thrilled.

Promotion.

Okay. I have to admit, there’s something a bit scary about promoting a book that hasn’t been written yet. But everything takes a while to get into place and I need a lot of help. I’ve noticed on some of the Brava Author’s websites that they mention their books shipping early, like a month or more early! So I’m starting small, but I’m starting. Everything is web based, so therefore free, but eventually I will need to outlay some of my advance. It could end up being a little or a lot, depends on what Kensington intends to do on their end and how much of the slack I want to pick up. We’ll start with my publisher’s intentions and then I’ll blog some other time about what I’m doing.

What am I doing?

Despite the fact that I spent all day on the computer, I actually got very little done as far as editing goes. I just can’t stay focused. I should have been done with my edits by now. Long done, over, finito, caput. WTF? I just don’t get it. I feel kinda like I did during the WORD Challenge. There were days when I goofed off so much that I only got about 10 pages done. 10 pages is fine when you’re writing from scratch, not when you’re editing and it’s taking you all day.

There’s got to be some kind of mental block or something. Whatever it is, it’s driving me crazy.

Uh… okay.

Your Christmas is Most Like: A Very Brady Christmas

For you, it’s all about sharing times with family.
Even if you all get a bit cheesy at times.
