My mother is the greatest. She spent the night last night and we sat on the couch, just us girls and watched Desperate Housewives and Boston Legal (both shows are our favorites.) Then my mom got up early this morning and scrubbed my house, did my dishes, and washed my laundry.
My mother is a saint. I can’t tell you what it means to me to have her do stuff like this. She does it because she believes in my writing and wants me to be able to focus completely on my work. That kind of support, faith, and hope for another person is priceless.
I love you, Mom.
And something a bit gross…
We’re sitting on the couch watching tv. My six month old puppy is on the couch with us, belly up, sleeping. I notice some odd looking growth by his tail. I’ve had him for all but 6-weeks of his life. I’ve never seen that growth before. I’ve bathed him, shaved his belly, I know him. He never used to have that. So I ask my mom, who is a nurse, “WTF is that?”
She bends over and looks. “A growth?”
“Aww man,” I complain. “I’m going to have to take him to the vet. It’s going to cost a fortune. How the hell can he have a growth at six months of age?”
We start poking at it, trying to figure out what it is. My poor, abused puppy tolerates this for a minute or two and then he starts growling. (Which is really cute, because he’s about the size of my shoe and is almost full grown.)
Finally, my mom diagnoses his growth.
I bet you guys are all smarter than we were.

LOLOL! Funny on the puppy!
You are so lucky to have that sort of support from your mom! She sounds great!
LOL! You of all people should have known what it was. LOL!
