Columns and Deadlines and Judging, Oh My!

Yep, drowning in work over here. Starting to freak out. Wondering why I can’t seem to be more organized. Missing my friend’s blogs that I hardly ever get to visit anymore because I’m too busy.

Nope, I’m not bitching. I’m glad to be busy, just kicking myself and making promises to get a better handle on multi-tasking.

Ran out to the car this morning in a hurry to take my son to kindergarten. Found the battery dead. *sigh* I pulled out the battery charger (yep, I’m married to a Master auto technician. This means I can build a car with all the tools we have in the garage, but I can’t get him to do even an oil change. ) I charged the battery for an hour, took my son to school an hour late, and came home. Two hours later I get back in the car to pick him up and the battery is dead again. I don’t have time to charge it for an hour, so I hook up the charger, get enough juice to get the engine to turn over and drive to the school. I leave the Suburban running (way up the road, because there’s no way to park close to the school) run up and get Jack, and run back to the car. Not fun.

So that was my day. How was yours?

LOL Sasha!! Sylvia, hope everything evens out for you soon!

  2. Sasha says:

I got no husband to compain about. In gfact, I have a bar full of regular customers that will do me pretty much any favor for beer. That’s how I got some website stuff done, as well as the tiles in my kitchen. Maybe you need to bribe them with beer?

  3. Sylvia says:

That’s exactly what my hubby says, Shannon.

  4. Shannon says:

My husband says there’s a real explanation for the phenomenon–he does it all day at work, so he doesn’t want to do it at home.

And, yes, he says this to a stay-home mom who’s been on 24/7 duty for 10 1/2 years. Oh wait…I did have that two day vacation when the younger was born. The nurse-midwife even made me a sundae.

    Mmmmmmm…..ice cream.

  5. Jordan says:

LOL! It must be one of those weird things. My dh is a software specialist, but getting my website redesigned is akin to doing root canal on myself.

  6. Margee says:

    Just proves the old saying
“the cobbler’s children go barefoot and the doctor’s wife dies young.”

  7. Larissa says:

My husband is a frigging sailor. Can I get him to go fishing or go on a cruise? Hell, no.

Sorry your life is so hectic right now, Sylvia! No more offering to judge contests, okay! LOL

By the way, thanks for changing your spam thing! I can post now!

  8. Steph T. says:

*waves to Sylvia* just keep posting so we know you’re okay!

And it’s got to ease up a little soon, right? (If it doesn’t, nobody tell me)

Did I mention the husband’s still home sick (TWO DAYS now) and can’t even manage to get his own Tylenol:roll:

  9. Shannon says:

I’m married to a heating & AC tech/master electrician, and I have a hard time vacuuming because the plug falls out of half my outlets. I have two window units instead of central air, and my boiler hasn’t been cleaned in two years

A plumber’s plumbing is never plumbed.

  10. Suzanne says:

Sylvia, my new year’s resolutions every year includes slowing down. That never happens!
