What to do with my blog?

In this thread on Alison’s blog, Romancing the Blog columnist Amy Garvey says, “…I’m already certain I will never again have anything to say in my blog or elsewhere.”

I’ve been feeling the same way. There are so many great columnists on the list that I’m trying to save whatever kernals of something interesting to say I come up with for my once a month column. So I apologize for my blog being absolutely, dreadfully boring for the last week or more. :???: I’ll get into the groove eventually and hopefully write something that won’t make you fall asleep.

*************

On a separate note, huge hugs and thanks to Sasha for making me laugh, offering advice, being honest, and a hundred other things.

Friendship

For the rest of my friends and blog acquaintances, if I haven’t told you lately that I appreciate you then I’m doing something wrong. I thank everyone who visits my site and blog regularly. I don’t know how I’d make it through some days without you.

Previews.

I’m glad that networks show the previews for the following week’s show immediately after this week’s show ends. You used to have sit through the credits, promos for other shows you don’t watch, and a sneak peak at the night’s news before they got around to showing you the previews. Used to drive me nuts and make me late for the show I wanted to watch on another channel. I like this instant gratification much better.

Judging.

Is there a secret reason why most contest judges don’t sign their name to the scoresheets? Today in the mail I received my Gateway to the Rest entries back. Once judge gave me a perfect score, but didn’t sign it. *scratching head*

Also in the mail tonight was my agency contract and my entries to judge for a contest. That’s why I’m wondering about nameless judges. I don’t see any problem with putting my name on the scoresheets, but this is my first time judging. Is there something I should know about why it’s not a good idea to put your name on the scoresheets??

Fool Me Once.

Have you read the most recent Brava historical anthology Strangers in the Night? There’s a story in it, Fool Me Once by Katherine O’Neal, set in 1933. The time period just captured me. What a fabulous idea! And the characters, two cons setting up the greatest take of their lives. I can totally picture it in my mind like a great old time movie.

I don’t think I’ll ever write a historical from that time period, but then again, why not? The idea is too cool for words. And I’ve been thinking of a lot of new ideas the last couple of days, which is such a relief because I’d begun to think I’d run out of them.

Does this happen to other writer’s? Most writers say they have more ideas than they know what to do with and I’ve always had that problem until recently. Maybe it’s the deadline or shock or whatever. In any case I’m grateful to be thinking of ideas again. Ohhhh… and I’ve got one really calling to me right now. I have the hero and his predicament already in mind. Still have to conceive of his heroine and her issues. But he alone is going to be so much fun.

King Arthur.

I just watched King Arthur tonight. It’s my first Clive Owen movie. And Lord, I really like him. Love the eyes and that voice…

Clive Owen

Where the heck have I been?

Oh yeah, under my rock…

No phone.

I’ve been without a phone for a week now. Verizon was supposed to fix it by today or owe me money. Of course it would help if I weren’t on hold on my cell phone forever.
