A month sometimes is all it takes. If I set aside a work for a month, I’ll read it again and shudder. I think about that with BAD BOYS AHOY! It won’t be out until this time next year. I think I’ll have to promise myself not to read it.

Sylvia, I know what you mean. I have REFUSED to open the ms that I sent in a full request back in September, because I know I’ll cringe at all the horrible mistakes I simply didn’t know about back then. Yeah, that was only a few months ago, but I’ve learned a lot since! (still waiting…..)
I’m horrible at using graphic wording. While I can read it no problem, I just can’t write it for some odd reason. I can’t stand purple prose, though, so I guess I just need to find a happy medium somewhere. Your excerpt made me want to read more, and obviously a bunch of others, too! Good luck with it!!!

that story is almost a year old and that excerpt was submitted prior to editing and critiquing. It’s much better now. LOL I read through it just a moment ago and cringed. It’s amazing how much we learn about the craft of writing as we go. (It also makes me blush. 
When I sent it my agent, I died!! Knowing he was reading all the graphic wording and sex about killed me.)

Sylvia, do you have an excerpt anywhere on your site of this piece? Sometimes that tickles something in my brain. I love coming up with titles! While “futuristic vampire erotic novella” sounds WONDERFUL, it’s not quite enough to spark any titles in my head. YET.
