and I know that’s not good, but bear with me.
I get the occasional e-mail or blog comment from authors, readers, romance reviewers or romance site and they’ll say things like, “I heard about your sale to…” or “Now that you’ve [insert anything here]…” or they’ll just say, “We’re running [whatever] and would like you to participate.” and I can’t help but wonder how that person or website heard of me. And how they heard of my career. I don’t know the career info on other authors. Am I missing a vital information source? Is there a place to go to learn about authors who don’t have their books in print yet?
Now some would say, “Who cares how they heard about you?” But if you remember this post you’ll recall that I was worried about sticking my foot in my mouth. So it would figure that I’d be a little bit worried about how people learned about me.
I really haven’t spent that much time venturing out in the online romance community (at least to my mind, but maybe I’m wrong.) and though I’m a member of listservs I rarely post on them (though everytime I do I regret it) and I’m a member of two online romance chapters, but I think between the two of them I’ve only posted about 10 posts.
So can someone enlighten me? *scratching head* (It’s okay. I can take it.) Is it the contest circle? Blog sidebar links? My big mouth with the foot in it?

Is that supposed to make me feel better, Cece?
You know even if you’re only on two lists, if there’s 250 people on each list and you post on both about your sale that’s 500 people who know you sold. Immagine how many people THEY know!
I saw your news on the writerspace boards too
You’re famous girl, get used to it
I’m not crazy, I swear! Just a tiny bit neurotic, like most authors.
And I was up until 3 am writing…
Are you out of Valium?
Just teasing.
Probably because you were in the RWR First Sale section (I think), on Lori Foster’s site (and others) regarding the contest win and sale, and in Publisher’s Lunch announcement (saw that one on Karen Fox’s website in the Market News section). Didn’t you know - you’re a star
I agree with Cece - sit back, relax and enjoy.
LOL I dont think it’s your foot. The romance community is smaller than we think and word gets around. Relaxxxxxxx
