		<description>Oh.....my post got eaten. I said, I remember when she came and spoke at our chapter's meeting that she talked about getting out of her comfort zone.  So for her it might not be all about the market.  I know Pam Britton is originally published in historicals, but her first contemporary just came out this week--a story she's had for TEN years.</description>

		<description>Yes, scary. I am very proud to say that my first contract was for 3 historicals. Although I write futuristics, historicals have always been my first love. :grin: Of course the bright side is that as the huge historical authors switch their focus to contemps it leaves room for up and coming historical writers. Or so I hope.</description>

		<description>That's a bit scary. I understand about the not so famous historical romance authors branching out into other genres to gain more recognition, but when Lisa-EFFING-Kleypas does it!? The world is ending!! *G* But seriously, I heard last year, at the RWA convention, that Kleypas was told to lighten her historicals up because darker historicals aren't as popular as they used to be.</description>
