For those of you who are interested, the thread for the April WORD is open. When you get a chance, post your goals.
I’ve spent the last day and a half learning what a thumbnail sketch was and then writing three of them. Yuck. I so completely suck at condensing my stories.
It’s taken time away from Alex, but I’m (hopefully) done now. We’ll see what my editor says.
Here’s what I’m reading now:

And here’s what’s on the way:

Fun stuff. I’m determined to glom Erin’s backlist.
Honestly, I’ve gotten to the point where I prefer anthologies. I just don’t have the time or patience to read a full-length novel anymore. I don’t know if it’s because the work isn’t holding my interest or if it’s because I’m too writing oriented right now and don’t like to take too long a break. Or maybe it’s because at the present time I prefer to write novellas and I’ve become used to the instant gratification. Who knows? But it takes a great author to make me buy a ST anymore.

Mr. Impossible is quite witty, but I haven’t been able to get into it because I’m distracted by my own work!

I’m trying to write a free-hand summary of my WIP right now, following the method from the book First Draft in 30 Days. It’s actually been helping, since I was so completely stuck on this WIP. But I think the real test will be what I end up writing from that summary!
I still like full-length books better. I do read novellas, but there have been a few I’ve finished and wished it had been longer, wished I’d had time to really get to know the characters.

I still prefer the single title length, though I LOVE writing novellas. Go figure …

I want to read Mr. Impossible just to see if it’s as good as all the hype. TVON is on my list to get as soon as I manage to get to a bookstore. I have the other two, but haven’t started Bite or finished SM. I’ve read more novellas lately, but I still want a good big book that I can just sink into.
