I’ve noticed that there are a lot of newbie authors building their presence on the web and I’m wondering which new to the world authors are you anxiously awaiting? How about aspiring authors? Which ones are you hoping will be published soon so you can read their stuff? And finally, what books are you looking forward to from any author, established or not?
I want to read Hot Spell with Emma Holly/Shiloh Walker/Meljean Brook/Lora Leigh, Chocolate Kisses with Renee Luke, et al and Forbidden Magic by Cheyenne McCray for sure. And Twice Upon a Roadtrip by Shannon Stacey. There’s more, I know. I just can’t think of them now, but I’ll keep adding as they come to mind. Chances are if you visit my blog, I’ll be buying your book. ![]()

Newish authors whose books I’m looking forward to include Marianne Stillings (I already have her upcoming on hold at B&N) and Beth Ciotta (ditto). I want to buy Sasha White’s first book GYPSY HEART from Liquid Silver. I’m also looking forward to the next releases by Mary Stella, Kathy Love, Pamela Clare, and Lydia Joyce. I try to support new authors, and I often enjoy their books most anyway for some reason. And I hope all the aspiring author bloggers I visit are published soon… I’ll most likely buy their books if I visit their blog often!
by Ellen Fisher April 22nd, 2005 at 4:09 amWell, I’m eagerly waiting for your books, Sylvia! I love the Bad Boys books and I love pirates, arrr.
Ellen’s on my reading list, too. The Nerd Prince. The excerpt made me laugh!
by Charlene April 22nd, 2005 at 8:35 amI’d love to see Steph Tyler’s books in print. She has some great characters. I’m also hoping Larissa’s recent revision request spawns a sell. She has some really great, original ideas.
I was also very intrigued with a recent submission of Cece’s. Darn if I can remember the name, but she posted a blurb and I was disappointed that it wasn’t “available.”
Only author’s upcoming release that I’m looking forward to (that I can think of off the top of my head) is Laura Lee Gurhke’s “The Marriage Bed”
Hmm and I think Christine Feehan might have one coming out this summer too.
by Sharon April 22nd, 2005 at 11:20 amEllen’s looking for my novel.
Yay!!
You’ll have to let me know if you like it Ellen!
For me, I’m waiting for your Nerd Prince as well. And I would love to see Steph’s Blog made into a novel somehow, LOL I just love the way she brings her characters to life so easily.
Cece has a bunch I’d love to see in print. As well as I’d like to see Alex’s story from you.
Other than that, the next book I’m waiting on is from Kelley Armstrong, the fifth book in her Otherwolrd series.
by Sasha April 22nd, 2005 at 11:58 amThank you, Sylvia, for waiting on Chocolate Kisses. The feeling is mutual. I can’t wait to get Bad Boys Ahoy.
Got to love the spicy stuff.
I blog hop a bit, and have to tell you, I’ve come across some unpubs who should SO be there. Ellen commented about enjoying newer authors more. I often agree. There’s something fresh and exciting about them.
by Renee Luke April 22nd, 2005 at 1:54 pmI’m waiting for Hot Spell so that I can read the other ladies’ entries
I heart Emma Holly. I worship at her feet.
I’m finding a lot of new authors and people I really want to see in print thanks to these blogs, and the way they talk about writing — you, Lydia Joyce, Monica Jackson, Larissa — crap, I’m not going to make a list because I’ll leave people out that I don’t mean to leave out and then feel guilty. I’m starting to appreciate contemporaries a lot more thanks to these blogs as well. I used to read primarily paranormal or historical (with some contemp suspense and category romance thrown in), but I find I’m branching out a lot more as people talk about the books they are writing/reading, or the books that influence them.
That’s also why I love the reader blogs too, though. And, hell, based on reading preferences there are a few readers I’d love to see pick up their pens as well — Màili or Candy of Smart Bitches, for example. But, alas, I must satisfy myself with their comments instead.

Uh, I guess that should read new-to-me authors.
by Meljean April 22nd, 2005 at 6:55 pmThanks, Sylvia!
(Must hyperventilate now *g*)
I’ve mentioned before how excited I am to get my hands on those Bad Boys Ahoy. And I want to read Marianne Mancusi’s (sp? I think I botched it) book, A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthur’s Court. (I think that’s the title. Sheesh. I really DO want to read it!) I’m not big into chick lit, but I’m a sucker for the zapped into Camelot stories. (I even liked Black Knight.)
Ann Wesley Hardin’s first book with EC will be out soon. It’s a rom com called Layover, and I’m pretty eager to read that one, too.
