My 6 yr old son came up to me tonight to show me his first loose tooth. It’s the one on the bottom, left side of middle. The beauty of his smile was to die for. He’s so proud of himself and in such a hurry to grow up. My baby.
He swears he’s making me breakfast in bed tomorrow. Eggs with cheese inside and coffee, because Mom is non-functional without coffee.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there.
Take the day off and just enjoy your babies.
UPDATE - My son made me a fill-in-the blanks Mother’s Day card in his kindergarten class. The last blank says, “My Mom is smart! She even knows…” His answer? “…how to write romance books.”
Oh, in other news, a big fat cat came into our backyard today and tried to have him some chicken dinner.
My mom and I were sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee when the chicken ran full bore into the French doors. Startled, Mom and I leapt up in time to see the tabby stalking Pollo Asado. I ran outside and scared it away. Don’t know what to do about that. Hasn’t been a problem before. It wasn’t quite dusk outside yet. I guess Pollo might have to head into the coop a bit earlier in the evening. Or else deal with the puppy as a annoying bodyguard. ![]()

Happy Mother’s Day!!
And I love those big toothless grins at that age. Enjoy! (they sure grow up fast, don’t they???)

The toothless grins are just as dashing as the toothy smiles. Enjoy each step of them growing up–even when it seems to be happening way too fast.
It’s raining here today, putting an end to our normal M’sDay picnic at the park, so they’re setting up in the family room.
Have a great day.
