1.) Anna Genoese:
I hate the synopsis, and never read it if I don’t have to. I find them boring, and indicitive of nothing except a writer’s ability to write a synopsis.
2.) Want to write for Spice?

I was in that Anna Genoese chat, and let me tell you, seeing that comment was a huge relief. And yet, I’ll still continue to struggle with my synopses.
Am I just a sucker for punishment?
by Lynn May 12th, 2005 at 9:33 pmThe fabulous Kate Duffy is also not a big synopsis fan. Much to my relief.
by SylviaWhen I received a request from my agent, she didn’t even want a synopsis. Her reasoning was she wanted the story to enfold as she read it. And now I’m on submission for my book and I never gave a synopsis. I literally wrote all my syns for contests, and never finaled in one. Ugh.
But, now I do have to write proposals.
by Kelly May 12th, 2005 at 9:53 pmI totally need Anna and/or Late as my editors…
by Steph T. May 13th, 2005 at 4:51 amum yeah - that would be Kate.
*walks away muttering about needing coffee*
by Steph T. May 13th, 2005 at 4:51 amI almost flew to NY and kissed Kate’s feet when she told me she only wanted a two-paragraph synopsis.
Yay for Anna Genoese, too! Wish I had something to submit with a crappy synopsis. *g*
by Larissa May 13th, 2005 at 6:10 amOne of my editors stressed that synopses for her must be ’succinct’… which I read to mean not the rambling 6 page nightmares I’ve sent in the past!
Boy, I *hate* writing synopses!!!!!!!
But on the other hand, I *do* need to write some kind of an outline or I panic and think that I can’t possibly work out how to finish the book! Or worse, it goes insanely off the rails in a way that’s beyond fixing…
by Wendywoo May 13th, 2005 at 7:51 amI hate them. I hate them. I hate them.
I did like the fact Kate only wanted one so they could grab a blurb from it. When I found that out, I wrote her blurbs instead.
I find them much easier to put together.
As for Anna, gotta love her. I hope to send her something really soon.
