Dear Board Members of Romance Writers of America, Inc.:
I have been informed by several authors as well as other people in the
publishing industry that ImaJinn Books has been removed from your list as a recognized publisher. Since we declined to fill out the paperwork for recognition, I expected this action. I do, however, find it unprofessional that I did not receive a letter or even an e-mail from you telling me of your action prior to you releasing this information to your membership, or at least contacting me at the same time you notified your membership. You do have all of our contact information on file and could have sent us an e-mail at the very least. To date, we still have not received any official notification from you, and we would ask that you send us an official notice of this action.
A letter was sent yesterday, August 22nd, to Medallion Press reactivating their RWA recognition. Below please find a statement from Allison Kelley on Medallion’s RWA recognition. Permission to copy/forward (in its entirety) granted.

When I determined which publishers needed to requalify for RWA recognition, I did not remember that the application for Medallion Press, dated March 19, 2004, was received several months prior to the actual approval of recognition. The application on file is not signed and dated with the approval date, as is our habit, so I honestly don’t know the exact date of their recognition, but a review of email and fax records indicate approval for Medallion Press was granted sometime during July 2004, just prior to RWA’s conference in Dallas.
That date was recent enough that my request for additional documentation from Medallion Press was sent in error.
Medallion Press will immediately be added back to the RWA website on the list of recognized publishers, and I sincerely apologize for the mistake. I will make every attempt to forward an official statement of error to any author list and publication on which the original announcement withdrawing their recognition was made.

Yesterday, I wrote a new scene for STW at the behest of my editor. It’s not a revision, it’s an addition, and I enjoyed writing it, even though I was dying to get back to my WIP. I’m letting the new scene sit before I run through it again, and see if it’s ready to send. Aside from this, the ms was officially accepted last week, and cover and title are in the works. :cheer:
I ran my new story through three readers: two cps, and a reader/reviewer. The common word used by all of them was “powerful”. However, they’re all wondering if I can pull it off. LOL
Is it that off the wall? Nah, but my characters are flawed, and I’m breaking some romance taboos. So the question is really: Can a writer break a taboo and still have likeable, sympathetic characters? I think you can, if you tread very, very lightly. Thankfully, I have a cp who reminds me not to stomp on the eggshells.
I’m trying my best, because I’m in love.
So I need to get the new scene in the mail, work on edits/additions to Kiss of the Night to make it longer, work on second round edits to Misled when they come back, work on my new story, add a page to the Passionate Ink site (just temp, while we’re waiting on the mock-up from the designer), reply to a half dozen e-mails that I set aside that require brain cells to reply to, and take a moment to breathe, so I can remember all the other things that I need to do and keep forgetting.
Anyone reading anything good? What’s that last book that really hooked you and reeled you in? And why? What was it that got to you?
I’m squeezing in a chat tonight, so stop by and say hi. There will be prizes too.
Come chat with the Millennium authors, Sunday August 21st, 9pm EST, about their various titles from different publishers.
