NOTHING horrible happened to me. LOL
I’ve had emails and phone calls all day today asking if I’m okay and, “what happened?”
THANK YOU!! you guys rock. A girl doesn’t realize how good she’s got it in the friend’s dept. until she’s bummed and her friends come running.
It was simply an odd day. One of those, wake-up-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-bed days, where nothing seems to go right, but it doesn’t really go wrong either. More like it takes twice as long to get something done than it should. At the end of the day, you’re tired and thinking, “man, what a day.”
My career is fine. My writing is fine. My family is fine. I’m fine. Maybe it’s PMS.
Anyway, thank you tons and tons and tons. I’m grateful for everyone who contacted me today.

Truly, it seemed to me that if something could go wrong it did. Not in a disasterous way, but in an odd, screwball kind of way. Now I tell myself that everything happens for a reason, so there must be some reason for things to have been whacky, but I’m a sensitive to things like that. So long story short, I’m kind of bummed.
I was hoping you’d cheer me up by telling some of your good news. Whatever it is. Something great is going on in your life right now and I’d love to hear about it!

…with this email:
Hi Sylvia,
I’m a producer with Geraldo At Large, a nationally syndicated news program anchored by Geraldo Rivera. We are putting together a story to air on Thursday about the increasingly sexual direction romance novels are taking.
If you are interested in talking with us in the form of an on-camera interview, we would have to do it tomorrow, Wednesday, given that we’re airing Thursday.
Please e-mail me back if you are interested. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
Bob Higgins
Producer, Geraldo At Large
The first thing that hit me was the fear of death. I was scared. LOL I emailed my agents and asked them what they thought. We discussed it for a bit and I wrote Bob back asking for more information.
In the end I will NOT be on the show, but they are doing a segment on erotic romance and it should be interesting to watch. You can look up www.geraldoatlarge.com to see on which channel and at which time on Thursday the episode is airing in your area.

I won’t post it all here, you can go read the actual stuff about the book yourself, but the part about her ‘judging a book by its cover’ just killed me.
“I must admit that I was pretty skeptical about this novel when I got it in the mail, but after reading just 3 pages I put aside all my preconceived notions and enjoyed every page of the read!
This book has many bad things I can say about it, but none of them about the writing or story telling ability of Sylvia Day who with this first book swept into the Romantica scene and left me hot, bothered, and breathlessly awaiting her next novel. As I said before, when I got this book in the mail I turned to my boyfriend and flat out mocked it. I mean it’s an anthology of erotic stories all written by the same author (what she couldn’t write one full book?), it’s a Regency set book with the horrific title Bad Boys Ahoy! (hmm that’s a title that screams Regency doesn’t it?), and the cover is not only garishly colored but has a pirate ship and two kissing fish on it! (Look at it. I mean LOOK at it!). And yet by the third page I was laughing out loud and totally engrossed.
[read actual review of book here]
Bottom Line: Don’t judge this book by its name or cover because the only person who won’t enjoy this book are those who don’t like their sex hot!”– Rakehell - Regency reviews

Since I’m going to be mucho busy this year writing, I’m going to Feng Shui my office tomorrow. I already started a bit tonight, and look forward to finishing. I was surprized by how many elements of Feng Shui I already had in my office setup. Pretty cool!
The main thing will be getting rid of all the papers that have accumulated all over every flat surface. Then I’ll add my elements in their respective areas and hope for success through 2006. (and beyond…)

Because I was gone most of the day yesterday, I didn’t check my mail. Today I did and was surprised to find a letter from Kensington in there. Opening that up, I found a fan letter inside that had been sent to K to be forwarded to me.
I’ve been debating for some time whether I need to get a post office box or not. I’d like to be able to offer to mail coverflats and bookmarks to those readers who send me SASE. I guess on Tuesday I’ll go take care of that.
This fan sent me book plates to sign for her. They’re beautifully colored historical themed book plates. She said she enjoyed BBA so much she’s been buying copies for her friends. I’m touched and honored. There’s nothing like finishing a book that you enjoyed tremendously. In fact, I think it’s that high that keeps us reaching for the next book, hoping to feel that way again. I can’t believe something I wrote did that for someone else. Enough to where she wrote me a somewhat lengthy letter and sent me bookplates. < — That’s how I felt reading that letter.
My SIL read BBA and loved it, though the use of various “c” words took her aback and made her blush. Still, she’s ready for the next one!

I went to a friend’s house for her birthday party and that was fun. My mom came along and we all ate great food, drank many drinks, and laughed about everything. Now I’m tired and going to bed, but I did get some work done today. I worked on the first chapter of my Avon story, with the help of crits from my cps. Tomorrow, I’ll edit/add to the second chapter. From that point on I have to write from scratch and I’m looking forward to it for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that I’m starting to get the writing itch. Finally!
