Connie Brockway says she’s decided to stop writing traditional romance cause she’s sick of writing sex.

A three-year-old boy was examining his testicles while taking a bath.
“Mom,” he asked, “are these my brains?”
“Not yet,” she replied
I added a poll to see which BAD BOYS AHOY! hero is the favorite. If you’ve read the book, come and vote!

It’s in the blue strip on the left, beneath the cover.
The new erotic imprint of Avon that I’m writing for is called Avon Red.
Whatcha think?
yes, I am behind the times in posting this… *sigh*
I received a book in my RITA pile that I NEVER would have bought on my own. I actually kinda cringed when I first saw it, but I promised an open mind, and was determined to look at the quality of writing and storytelling. In the end, I LOVED it! The whole time I was reading it, I was like WOW!
I’ve never read any of the authors whose books I received and I had no plans to buy any of those books, but truly, I’ve enjoyed most of them and will buy more from those authors in the future.
I’m so excited about that. I love to find new-to-me authors that are fun reads.
I was also selected to judge GH entries this year (NO idea how I ended up with both), and that’s been interesting. Most of the manuscripts show so much promise that it excites me to read them. I can see why some aren’t published, but I can also see how close the author is (IMHO) and how much effort they put into the writing. I haven’t finished them, but I do hope to find one that blows me away. My cp was a GH long historical finalist last year, and I have to say it’s just wrong that she’s not published yet. She’s soooo good.
… except for the entries I need to finish judging. Will be working on those slowly over the course of the next few days.
In review news, BAD BOYS AHOY! reviews are hitting the web in force this week. First, All About Romance gave BBA a B grade and said, “Bad Boys Ahoy! show us, Sylvia Day, has talent and is a writer to watch.“, which is pretty darn awesome for AAR. *g* I’m very happy/relieved about that.
WNBC. com called it a “must-read” amongst other wonderful things.
Romance Junkies calls it a “fantastic read” and says it belongs on the “keeper shelf”.
Of course every reader makes their own determination about that, but I’m certainly happy this reader thought so.
So yay!! :cheer:  :yay:
Okay, enough self-cheer. I’m trying to get back into the swing of WRITING. Yes, my job. I haven’t written more than a three page addition to a proposal in over a month. However, I’m no longer burnt out and the story ideas I’m playing with in my head are exciting to me. I’m a bit torn between writing Lord Fontaine’s story (from BBA) since it’s been a popular request in reader emails, or another story about a character you’ll meet in ASK FOR IT. hmmm… Both would be fun, but for very different reasons.
I’m also hoping to finish up my Avon story soon. This year I’m trying to write one book at a time instead of several going at once. I want to see if it helps me finish faster, or if I just get stuck and produce nothing. LOL
TWC invited me back for a chat, so I’ll be there tonight, if any of you want to stop by. This is mostly a writers chat, but may be of interest to readers, too.
