Question

Looking at this list of promo items, you see how many bookmarks were donated. In this case, I doubt anyone will keep them all. So does that momentary flash of a book cover and author name before the bookmark is discarded help the author/book at all?

(btw, I sent bookmarks, too. *g*)

Round seventeen million

So I’m editing SAPPHIRE’S WORTH again. And I’m thinking it’s time to retire this story. It was written two years ago, and I think it shows. (Of course ASK FOR IT is older than that…) *sigh*

It’s tough, almost like a rewrite. I just don’t write the same anymore, so things have to be cut and redone to how I would write it today. Of course, I never want to do a full rewrite, so I try meshing the new with the old.

It doesn’t work. :(

In other news, looking at next year, when I have new release every other month, I’d have a new release shipping from online retailers right now. I’m excited and curious at the same time. What will that be like?

On the Mend

I think I’m starting to get better. I’m still a bit sickly, but it’s not worsening, so I think I’m on the mend. I’m telling you, that No Time For Colds stuff works.

I was thrilled to discover that BAD BOYS AHOY! received a wonderful review from Just Erotic Romance Reviews, including a Gold Star Award for “Lucien’s Gamble”–my first Gold Star ever. :cheer:

“Blatantly erotic, rich in emotional growth and with enough detail to know Ms. Day has done her homework of the Regency period, Lucien’s Gamble is a book that deserves much praise for its excellent writing. Lucien’s Gamble is a keeper and a winner all round. I highly recommend this passionately erotic tale of romance, which is the reason I believe it deserves the Gold Star Award.”

Tomorrow, I’m taking Shanna to the doctor for her kindergarten physical. She’s so excited about starting school. I am, too. I know she’ll have fun and the quiet time for writing will be welcome. :)

Anyway, I’m in the mood to give away something so tell me what I should have on my website that I don’t. Or something I have on my website that should go. Winner gets their choice of either an autographed copy of BBA or an ASK FOR IT tote bag. Everyone else can have an ASK FOR IT coverflat and some of my new bookmarks. Everybody plays, everybody wins. *g*

More Stranger…

I’m too tired to blog, so I’ll post another excerpt from THE STRANGER I MARRIED. I just love this book. I hope those of you who pick it up love it, too. So far, if emails and blog posts are any indication, STRANGER is more highly anticipated than ASK FOR IT. :)

What I’m anticipating is the cover. My darling editor teased me about it yesterday, telling my agent how much I’m going to love it. So now I’m dying, dying, dying to see it. :bounce:

Sick, but forging on

I’ve got an upper respiritory infection, and it’s kicking my butt. I’m trudging forward though, taking my Airborne and No Time For Colds. I’ll be on the mend soon. :)

My release schedule for 2007 is pulling together. So far I’ve got:

Jan - Mar - May - July - Sept - Dec

Pretty cool, eh? (items may shift during flight. I’ll keep you posted.)

Only one of these books is turned in. Two are half-way done. The other three need to be written. But I’m excited. I hope these books–a combination of historicals and paranormals–released in such rapid succession help establish an audience for my work. I’m working on hard on them, giving each one as much attention as if they were the only story I have to write. I love them all.

I’m excited about my Avons. I’m excited about my Bravas. I’m excited about next year and having a large backlist. I’m excited about writing and the stories I’m getting to write. Most of all, I’m grateful for my agents, who are just as excited as I am (what an unbelievable gift to feel their anticipation, too), and my editors who are cheerleaders when they have to be (which is a lot of the time).

At the end of January, I was so tired and burned out, and now I’m charged again. Yay!! :yay:

Now if I could just kick this Spring cold
