My son was Student of the Week last week, an honor that meant the entire week was about him. He got to show and tell everyday, and was given special treatment. He had a “things about me” chart up at the front of the class and today he was able to bring home the class pet for the weekend–Rosie, the hamster.
Rosie, who normally is a night owl, ran herself ragged in my house today, rolling all over the downstairs in her plastic running ball. She was a non-stop rolling machine and my children had a blast following her around the house.
I’ll snap a picture of her this weekend, so you can see how cute she is. :d

How fun! In second grade at my kids school they have the same thing and they too have loved it!

by Nicole Reising April 29th, 2006 at 10:45 amI always thought it was cool when one of the boys were student of the week, and it made them feel so good. I remember my oldest getting the class teddy bear and we took him to see “Zoo lights” during the holidays, and then my son wrote about it in the class journal. It was really cool.
