After playing with the new WordPress system (2.0.2) on the Allure Authors website, I finally upgraded my main site with the new software. The upgrade was simple and easy. Aside from the backing up of my database and a few key files, the upgrade itself took less than 5 mins. (Love that about WP)
I waited for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was plug-in compatibility. My main site has only a couple plug-ins. One was made obsolete by the upgrade, but I found a suitable replacement. My blog, however, is plugged-in and hacked from here to Sunday. Not by the designer, but by me. I always want new techie toys.
So I may hire out the upgrading of my blog, and then someone else can curse, sweat, and heart-race themselves through it.
*****Update*****
I did it myself. Took much longer, due to the need to diasable everything, but it went off without a hitch and now I’m hooked up. *g*
Yes, I’m a geek. I can’t help it.
In other news, I lost 5 lbs this past week. Yay!!!

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Lucy twice now, and she’s a doll. She’s got a fun blog where you can ‘meet’ her, too.

TEMPT ME by Lucy Monroe
ISBN 0-4252-0922-9
Berkley Sensation
Sexy Historical Mass Market Paperback
Humiliated by his family’s indiscretions, Lucas, Lord Ashton-nicknamed “The Saint” - wants nothing more than to live a quiet life with the prim and proper bride of his choice. And if the innocent young lady in question gives him some decidedly devilish urges, he is determined to control himself-much to her dismay.
Lady Irisa Langley is at her wit’s end. Much as she loves her exasperatingly perfect fiancé, she’s starting to think it would be wrong of her to marry him. For Irisa has a secret that would shock even the world-weary denizens of the Ton, and someone-who doesn’t want her anywhere near Lucas-knows it.
Lucas never knew that he could desire more in a bride than impeccable manners and an unblemished pedigree. But even as scandal looms, a loyal little spitfire with heated kisses and silken skin is making him forget every rule of etiquette he’s ever known…

Got this from Sasha via the Allure Authors blog:
Of all of the signs, Pisces has the most active sexual fantasy life. Rather surprising for a sign known for its romanticism, but in a good relationship a Piscean makes love with no holds barred. Making love in or near water is a huge turn on for them, and as such the bathroom is a particularly erotic place. Fountains, waterfalls, rivers, lakes and the sea also do the trick, with the added bonus of being pretty scenery for the Piscean imagination to play with. Pisces woman is comfortable with sex in any form, and will encourage a partner to really let go. She loves to teach and instruct, and can be most definitely un-ladylike when the mood takes here. Pisces man is attentive and encouraging in bed, and is particularly keen on sexily tasteful (as opposed to tacky) underwear on his partner. He’s also fond of sex toys, and would probably buy one for his partner as the ideal Valentines present! Despite being really rather a raunchy sign, both sexes are incapable of sex without love, and both place a lot of emphasis on affection and tactile contact in day to day life as well as during sex.

…by my mother for not posting on my blog. *g*
I’ve had “story brain” the last 4 days, writing like mad and having fun, but staying up until 3 AM every night, then getting up with my kids. I’m tired. So I’m not thinking up new stuff well.
ARCs for ASK FOR IT arrived yesterday (riddled with all the errors found in the galleys *sigh*), so I’ve been mailing them out to review sites. I sent most of my BBA ARCs to reading groups last time, and I’m not sure if doing so helped or not. As it is, with all the mistakes in these ARCs, I don’t think they would. Even though it says “Uncorrected Proof” on the cover, I don’t feel better.
What does make me feel better is my awesome editor who is working on her end to help me get things straightened out. Bless her.
I’m dieting. Started yesterday. Been hardcore, so I’ve lost weight already. Atkins. Melts off the weight. I’ve heard it works as well for some people, for others not so much. Pure protein fills me up like nothing else. I stay full for so many hours I have to remind myself to eat again. I also have a lot more energy, so I’m drinking about 1/4 the amount of coffee as I have been recently. I fell off the wagon about a year ago, I think. Maybe more. Time is just flying by for me. In a few weeks I’ll be in Daytona hanging out with my friends, and I want to feel good doing it. So I’m motivated.
I’m almost finished with my Avon novella for the March anthology. It’s gone through my cps, now it’s out with my test reader. Once she weighs in, I’ll send it off. It’s a departure for me in more ways than one. I hope it works for readers. Now that I think about it, I hope it works for my editor, too. We’ve never worked together before, and I went over word count. :shifty:
Anything new with you?
