…but for some reason, my body clock got tweaked enough to make me sleepy early at night and wide awake early in the morning.
I’m not getting hardly any writing done. I may need to disconnect for a few weeks and get caught up. On sleep and work.
Do you find yourself more productive when you limit your online time?
The temperatures here in So. California have been in the mid-80’s this week. For some reason, I think it’s hot as hell. Summers here are usually in the 100’s, so it shouldn’t feel like an oven to me, but it does.
BTW, last night my cp sent me her latest chapter to crit and it blew me away. It’s rare these days that things get me hooked and tingly while reading. I think I’m just so frazzled that it takes being smacked upside the head to slow down and enjoy the ride. My cp’s work does that for me often. What a blessing.

Sometimes you just need to back away from the computer/work, etc and just let yourself re-charge. I find that I get that way if I’m on the computer too much - it can drain your energy and your creativity. And the internet is such an alluring distraction LOL. I hope disconnecting gives you lots of focus and excitement for those WIPs.

by Charlene Teglia May 25th, 2006 at 5:10 amI too am off kilter and can’t seem to work. I think my brain got fried from all that aweful food in Daytona.
by DanaDana,
No doubt. Shelley got the stomach flu, poor thing. I feel like I have cotton in my brain or something. I can’t piece thoughts together.
by SylviaActually, if I don’t have the net, I’m less likely to write … but then, I usually catch someone from one of my writer’s groups for a Word War and get the most of my work done that way.
by Nonny May 25th, 2006 at 10:59 amWhat is it with the freaky weather?! Monday was so cold and rainy! I thought I’d float away. Then it’s been so hot the rest of the week all I want to do is sleep! It is totally impossible to get any work done, I agree. I just want to lay around in the sun and get started on my summer tan!

Very much so. At least usually.
Right now I’m having concentration issues so I let myself spend more time surfing and bloghopping than i really need to.
One thing that tends to work really well for me production wise, though~ I finally figured it out. I almost always have two or three books running at a time. Lately I’ve been trying to focus on just the one that’s contracted with Berkley. And my brain is going dead. So I started up another one and my brain started working just fine. I tend to work better when I don’t try to devote my time to one thing alone.
:s It’s my short attention span….
by Shiloh Walker May 26th, 2006 at 4:48 amOh, the internet is definitely a great way to procrastinate from writing. I’ve heard some writers time their online time. After, say, 15 minutes, they go offline and get to work.
