I’m working off a daily page count and actually trying to stick to it this time. It’s an interesting experience. I haven’t yet met my daily goal, but I’m far more productive than I have been lately.
And after the writing ADD I’ve been experiencing most of the year, it’s nice to wake up and see all the pages I wrote the day before. I’m still amazed when I finish a book and print it out. I look at the 400 pages and wonder where the hell all those words came from. Did I create all that? Wow!
That’s always a rush for me, the printing and mailing of my mss. Of course, then comes the nail biting while waiting to hear from my editors, but for a few days, the awe takes precendence. It’s one of the “little” things about this job that makes it all worthwhile.

That’s awesome Sylvia. It’s cool to hear a writer say they still get that rush from seeing the proof of all their efforts right in front of them. And of course that’s great news for the readers
by Stacy ~ May 28th, 2006 at 1:55 pmIsn’t it cool to sit and look at the stack of printed pages and go, “I created this?” I’m almost finished going through my contemporary so I can print it out and send it off to Kensington Brava. I’m nervous as heck. It’s one thing to print off something I’ve written and give it the hubby to read, but an editor is another thing…
Good luck on reaching your page goal!! (I need one of those)
by DanaIt was wonderful to see you at RT, Sylvia! Congrats on getting so much done. I’m working on a revision and have a week to get it done so that it can be critiqued before I send it in. Which I need to get to work on now. Hugs!
by Cheyenne McCray May 29th, 2006 at 8:47 amYou can do it. I know you can. I’m glad you’ve been productive. I’m about to do the whole print out thing in a few days. Can’t wait to feel that rush. *g*
