My beautiful daughter fell off our backyard playground yesterday and ended up in the pediatric intensive care unit with a nasty concussion. I spent last night in the hospital with her and it was terrifying. She lost motor function and didn’t know who I was.
But we’re home now, and she’s doing much better.
I’ll be watching her closely over the next 2-3 weeks for any lingering symptoms of head trauma. I hope there aren’t any. My poor baby. ;(

OMGoodness! How scary! Once she got over the initaila shock, you probably had way worse lingering emotional effects than she did. Thank goodness our kids are so resilient! I’m so glad to know that she is doing better now.

I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter’s fall! I pray that both of you are ok from it. I’d board it up too, and send it off.

Oh My Goodness, Sylvia!!
Glad to hear she is home and is doing much better. As a mom of three, I can sympathize with you and your idea of boarding up your playset. Yet, sometimes things happen so quick that there’s nothing you could have done to help. Don’t beat yourself up over i! You’re a great mom and you’re doing the best that you can!!
Sending many, many hugs and kisses to you and your daughter!!!

Thank you, everyone. ((hugs))
Karen, my hubby boarded up the playground immediately. We’re getting rid of it. The paramedic said, you can’t protect them from everything. I said, “Yeah. Well, I can protect her from that playground.” *shudder*

Poor baby. And poor mom. {{hugs}} for you both, and wishes for a speedy recovery.
We were looking at getting a backyard playset for our daughters birthday (she’ll be 4 on July 5th). Now I’m thinking maybe she’d like something a little less… scary. Mom scary. I got chills just reading your post; I’d be a mess if it happened to my baby.
More {{hugs}} and happy thoughts for you both.
