Deadline to sign up on-line (to judge): September 19, 2006
As of today, RWA only has about half the judges needed for the RITA contest. If you have not signed up yet, please go to the “My Contest” page on the RWA Web site (www.rwanational.org) today and do so. If you’re already signed up, thank you!
As many of you know, the 2005 and 2006 contests for both the GH and the RITA maxed out at the 1,000 limit each. The Board voted at the July ‘06 board meeting to increase the limit from 1,000 to 1,200 entries for each contest.
If, at the disqualification date, there are not sufficient judges, entries and entry fees shall be returned to those entrants who did not volunteer to judge by random drawing until a reasonable number of entries remain and can be assigned to panels (P&PM 9.7.6).
Please note: When RWA converted to the new membership software in January, judging preferences from the old software were not retained. You must complete your preferences on-line in order to judge the RITA contest.

To sign-up online to judge the RITA contest:
1. Click the “My Contest” link from the left-hand side of the page. Then, select the “2007 RITA Judging Preferences” link.
2. Select a minimum of three categories as your judging preferences from the drop-down boxes. The RITA judging packets are mixed, with 7 to 8 books per packet, so you will be judging entries from the categories you select.
3. Select your preferred contact information for Contest judging in the “Contact Information” section. The information you select here is how RWA will contact you regarding the contest.
4. Hit the “Save” button. Note: Once you hit “Save,” judging preferences cannot be changed for the 2007 contest year. If you make a mistake and need something changed, e-mail contests@rwanational.org.
