My gal Vivi Anna ROCKS at writing futuristics, and anything else she puts her mind to. She has some fabulous kick-ass heroines and some hot, yummy heroes. Wait ’til you read “Quick Silver”, which is in our joint anthology ALLURING TALES, coming in March from Avon. (the cover is gorgeous! Click here: Alluring Tales cover flat to check it out!)
In the meantime, run out right now and pick up INFERNO. You’ll love it!

Recently, two posts popped up on two separate loops saying, “Now I see that the new “black” is demons and demonology” and “Are demons the new vamps?”
This got me thinking, which had me searching. Following are the early 2007 releases presently listed on Amazon with “demon” in the title. (There were a few more that are straight fantasy/paranormal, which I didn’t list here. About a half dozen.)
- Surviving Demon Island by Jaci Burton
- Demon’s Delight by MaryJanice Davidson, Emma Holly, Vickie Taylor, and Catherine Spangler
- For a Few Demons More by Kim Harrison
- The Demon You Know: A Novel of the Others by Christine Warren
- Demon Angel by Meljean Brook
- Demons Are Forever: Confessions of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom by Julie Kenner
- Demon Moon by Meljean Brook
- Lucinda, Darkly: The Demon Princess Chronicles by Sunny
- California Demon: The Secret Life of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom by Julie Kenner
These don’t have the word “demon” in the title, but they’re about demons:
- Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead
- Hell’s Belles by Jackie Kessler
I know there are a few more I’ve heard of, but just can’t remember. Some of the demons are good guys, some of the demons are bad guys. It’s a pretty good mix, I think.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
Ours was quiet and relaxed. We usually do a dinner with the extended family, but this year we stayed home. My mom came over and my husband cooked. Yummy. I sat at the table and worked on Christmas cards, then got back to work. (I write 7 days a week) The food was good, the company fabulous. *g* I enjoyed it.
I mentioned wanting a new stove, and hubby ran out and bought me one today. It’s being delivered Wed., so I’m excited about that. (Even though he does most of the cooking, and will therefore get more use out of it than I will.
) I haven’t decided if I want to do a total kitchen overhaul, or just move altogether. I’m leaning toward the latter.
As for books, y’all might remember how much I enjoyed writing The Stranger I Married. I loved it. It’s awesome to hear from readers who loved it, too.
“I loved this book!” – The Romance Studio
“I loved losing myself in Gerard and Isabel’s struggle to come to an agreement on the status of their marriage.” – Romance Junkies
“I loved it. Could not put it down. Well done fantastic read!!!!!†– Rosemary, Rosemary’s Romance Books, Australia
“I loved reading The Stranger I Married, and eagerly look forward to my next Ms. Day tale.†– JERR
As for reading, I’m very interested in my latest research into freemasonry.
Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the States!
It’s bright and sunny and hot here. I can’t believe the year is almost over! Wow!
Have a great day. ((Hugs))
…when I get to sleep in. I am soooo not an early morning person. Between 9-10 AM is the perfect time for me to wake up. I sometimes look back and wonder how the heck I got up at 4 AM in the Army. From 8-9 PM was free time in Basic Training, and I’d plug in my rifle range earplugs and go to bed. No letter writing or chatting for me. If I was getting up at 4 AM, I needed shut-eye. I had my bunk tightly made and safety-pinned in place from the underside. When I went to sleep, I rolled out my sleeping bag on top of it and crash in there. This saved me about 15-20 minutes of bed-making in the morning. I just hopped out, rolled up the bag, and tucked it back in my locker. I needed that 15-20 mins. *g*
Anyway, my kids are off from school so we’re all sleeping in. Yay!
I’m changing one of my stories now from a first-meet premise, to a reunion premise, which is one of my favorites. Lots of angst usually.
It’s been fun so far and I’m about 1/3 way done with it. Hopefully, it will continue to be fun. *fingers crossed*
THE STRANGER I MARRIED has received some great reviews so far. I’m super happy about that, because I LOVE that story. I personally think it’s the best piece of work I’ve published so far. It is a very close second to my #1 favorite, SAPPHIRE’S WORTH, which isn’t published yet, but will be someday with a different title. Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know how long I’ve been waiting to share that story. I wrote it over two years ago and it will probably be another two years before it’s available. I wonder if I’ll have a new favorite story by then, or if it’ll still be at the top. (Maybe I’m not supposed to say I have favorites…?)
In some fun news (for me) I saw some of the promo Avon put together for PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT, and I was flattered. *g* I’m a “rising star” they say, and “Fans of Christine Feehan will delight in this deeply sensual love story.” Of course publishers promote all of their books one way or another, big ways and small ways, but it’s always nice to see what they’re doing regardless of the size.
I’ll be launching a new design on www.DreamGuardians.com soon. Although I do like the one I have now, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles and gizmos that I want it to have. Should be launched in the next week or two. I’ll let you know when it’s live.
I hope you all have fun getting ready for the holidays. This is my favorite time of the year.
I had a nightmare trying to get a ms to NY. Long story short, a series of unfortunate events ended with a Kinkos worker hand-delivering the document himself, because he couldn’t find a courier who could meet my timetable. I am absolutely amazed at the generosity of some people. This man didn’t know me from Adam. I was just some panicked woman calling from California, and still he printed up my ms and hoofed it to the publisher. For free. THEN… he said if I ever needed him again, to just give him a call.
(A glutton for punishment, or a saint?) Of course, the gal he works with is wonderful, too. She had to hold down the fort while he made the delivery for me.
There are still beautiful people in this world. Bless them. I plan to pay it forward.
As for covers…
I’m an idiot.
My last three Brava covers have had the same fonts (which just thrills me. Might be silly to some, but to me it means the world.). When I saw my June cover, I fell in love. It’s my favorite of all my covers. Prior to that cover, my favorite cover was ASK FOR IT‘s, which is tied to my June book with book-hopping characters. I adored each cover on its own. I loved how Kensington continued to use the same fonts and title/author name positioning. I didn’t notice how wonderfully the covers went together until I saw them beside each other. *smacks forehead* (sadly, I seem to be spending more and more time fighting brain clouds.)
Aren’t they gorgeous together? There is another book coming that is tied to these two. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it matched? I think so.
*fingers crossed*
My Dragon Magically Speaking arrived, but it’s still in the box. I’m wrapping up edits, and I’m too deep into that to mess with anything else. But I’ll let you know how it goes when I get a chance to try it out.
Hope you’re all doing well!
