I had a nightmare trying to get a ms to NY. Long story short, a series of unfortunate events ended with a Kinkos worker hand-delivering the document himself, because he couldn’t find a courier who could meet my timetable. I am absolutely amazed at the generosity of some people. This man didn’t know me from Adam. I was just some panicked woman calling from California, and still he printed up my ms and hoofed it to the publisher. For free. THEN… he said if I ever needed him again, to just give him a call.
(A glutton for punishment, or a saint?) Of course, the gal he works with is wonderful, too. She had to hold down the fort while he made the delivery for me.
There are still beautiful people in this world. Bless them. I plan to pay it forward.
As for covers…
I’m an idiot.
My last three Brava covers have had the same fonts (which just thrills me. Might be silly to some, but to me it means the world.). When I saw my June cover, I fell in love. It’s my favorite of all my covers. Prior to that cover, my favorite cover was ASK FOR IT’s, which is tied to my June book with book-hopping characters. I adored each cover on its own. I loved how Kensington continued to use the same fonts and title/author name positioning. I didn’t notice how wonderfully the covers went together until I saw them beside each other. *smacks forehead* (sadly, I seem to be spending more and more time fighting brain clouds.)
Aren’t they gorgeous together? There is another book coming that is tied to these two. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it matched? I think so.
*fingers crossed*
My Dragon Magically Speaking arrived, but it’s still in the box. I’m wrapping up edits, and I’m too deep into that to mess with anything else. But I’ll let you know how it goes when I get a chance to try it out.
Hope you’re all doing well!

I love your covers and hope the next one also matches up for you.
by cathy November 17th, 2006 at 7:13 pmI love dragon. I have to use it most of the time now. It pays to take your time on the training, you get better word recognition. Gorgeous covers, Sylvia!
