…when I get to sleep in. I am soooo not an early morning person. Between 9-10 AM is the perfect time for me to wake up. I sometimes look back and wonder how the heck I got up at 4 AM in the Army. From 8-9 PM was free time in Basic Training, and I’d plug in my rifle range earplugs and go to bed. No letter writing or chatting for me. If I was getting up at 4 AM, I needed shut-eye. I had my bunk tightly made and safety-pinned in place from the underside. When I went to sleep, I rolled out my sleeping bag on top of it and crash in there. This saved me about 15-20 minutes of bed-making in the morning. I just hopped out, rolled up the bag, and tucked it back in my locker. I needed that 15-20 mins. *g*
Anyway, my kids are off from school so we’re all sleeping in. Yay!
I’m changing one of my stories now from a first-meet premise, to a reunion premise, which is one of my favorites. Lots of angst usually.
It’s been fun so far and I’m about 1/3 way done with it. Hopefully, it will continue to be fun. *fingers crossed*
THE STRANGER I MARRIED has received some great reviews so far. I’m super happy about that, because I LOVE that story. I personally think it’s the best piece of work I’ve published so far. It is a very close second to my #1 favorite, SAPPHIRE’S WORTH, which isn’t published yet, but will be someday with a different title. Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know how long I’ve been waiting to share that story. I wrote it over two years ago and it will probably be another two years before it’s available. I wonder if I’ll have a new favorite story by then, or if it’ll still be at the top. (Maybe I’m not supposed to say I have favorites…?)
In some fun news (for me) I saw some of the promo Avon put together for PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT, and I was flattered. *g* I’m a “rising star” they say, and “Fans of Christine Feehan will delight in this deeply sensual love story.” Of course publishers promote all of their books one way or another, big ways and small ways, but it’s always nice to see what they’re doing regardless of the size.
I’ll be launching a new design on www.DreamGuardians.com soon. Although I do like the one I have now, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles and gizmos that I want it to have. Should be launched in the next week or two. I’ll let you know when it’s live.
I hope you all have fun getting ready for the holidays. This is my favorite time of the year.
