Recently, two posts popped up on two separate loops saying, “Now I see that the new “black” is demons and demonology” and “Are demons the new vamps?”
This got me thinking, which had me searching. Following are the early 2007 releases presently listed on Amazon with “demon” in the title. (There were a few more that are straight fantasy/paranormal, which I didn’t list here. About a half dozen.)
- Surviving Demon Island by Jaci Burton
- Demon’s Delight by MaryJanice Davidson, Emma Holly, Vickie Taylor, and Catherine Spangler
- For a Few Demons More by Kim Harrison
- The Demon You Know: A Novel of the Others by Christine Warren
- Demon Angel by Meljean Brook
- Demons Are Forever: Confessions of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom by Julie Kenner
- Demon Moon by Meljean Brook
- Lucinda, Darkly: The Demon Princess Chronicles by Sunny
- California Demon: The Secret Life of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom by Julie Kenner
These don’t have the word “demon” in the title, but they’re about demons:
- Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead
- Hell’s Belles by Jackie Kessler
I know there are a few more I’ve heard of, but just can’t remember. Some of the demons are good guys, some of the demons are bad guys. It’s a pretty good mix, I think.

Still haven’t caught on to the Demon craze yet, but maybe someday. I never cared much for vampires until Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunters, so never say never….

by SylviaWhat dream thing? Now I’m curious!
And I’m damn happy to see demons in the spotlight right now. For obvious reasons. Thanks for noticing, Syl!

by Jaci Burton December 2nd, 2006 at 10:53 amWorking for the Devil by Lilith Saintcrowe and it’s sequel Dead Man Rising, are the BEST for demons. Her hero Japhremiel, the demon, is delicious. Incredible writing too.
