PLEASURE CONTROL
by Cathryn Fox
Publisher: Avon Red (November 7, 2006)
ISBN: 0060898569
A dedicated scientist, Laura Manning has an I.Q. that’s off the charts. But beneath her pristine white lab coat is a curvaceous body that craves satisfaction. She finds it hard keeping her mind on the experiment and off what’s under the lab coat of her bad boy research partner, Jay Cutler, whom she’s working with to develop a libido suppressant, an “antidote” for a society gone sex-mad, pumped up and over-stimulated by the miracle of Viagra.
With time running out, Jay offers to act as a human guinea pig, injecting himself with the libido suppressant. Laura’s role requires lingerie, soft music and candlelight. Her job is to entice him, to determine if the suppressant tamps down his desires. Rather than cooling the flames of lust engulfing them, their “antidote” only heats them up . . . and there’s only one scandalous way to deal with it!
Suddenly long days of laboratory work are giving way to sizzling nights of sensual experimentationâ€â€and a different kind of “chemistry” that leaves Jay and Laura breathless and gasping for more! Their professional careers may depend upon a successful climaxâ€â€and there are dangerous competitors determined to steal their research. And maybe their pleasure games have gotten a bit out of control.
But who in her right mind would want to pull the plug on her man’s libido when the loving is this deliciously hot?

I picked up this book last week, and I have to tell you — it’s fun and sexy. A great, feel-good read.
Also, it was a finalist in the last Brava Novella contest, so if you wanted to see where the story was going, here’s your chance!
Well, not really, but it feels that way to me. My kids have the day off school and my hubby took the day off to run errands. (however, he is presently snoring on the couch. *g*) Having everyone home makes me feel like it’s Saturday already. I’ve been listening to Harry Connick, jr. singing Christmas carols, so I feel like it’s the holidays. Or I would, if it weren’t so darn hot outside. It feels like summer.
I’m polishing up my novella for PERFECT KISSES now, so I can put it in the mail next week. I’m very nervous about it. Susan Johnson is a tough act to follow. Yikes! But I think it’s a very sweet story, so I hope readers like it.
Reviews for THE STRANGER I MARRIED are starting to trickle in. My fabulous, wonderful editor just sent me a finished copy of the book and I find myself looking at it often throughout the day. I hope I never lose that feeling of awe I get when I hold one of my books in my hands. I’ll be doing an Author-in-the-Spotlight on the Romantic Times website for it, once I wrap my mind about what to say.
I have 10K bookmarks to bundle and over 100 Christmas cards to prepare, but I’m looking forward to it! The kids like to help, bless them. I bought The Libertine last week, and hope to watch it sometime.
Oh, and I bought Dragon Magically Speaking. We’ll see how that goes once it gets here, eh?
**update**
I just found out that ASK FOR IT is presently ranked #391 on BN.com! My recent trip to BN a couple days ago to buy PLEASURE CONTROL (written by my gal pal and fellow Allure Author Cathryn Fox), showed that they’d recently restocked AFI.

Shanna and I went to the hair salon a couple days ago for trims. I had 3-4 inches cut off my hair, taking it from waist-length to bra-strap length. I really like it!
Not the length necessarily, but how healthy and shiny it is now.
Shanna is super thrilled, too. Says her hair is softer. (She only lost about an inch, maybe less. *g*) We had fun.
Her parent/teacher conference was today and her teacher said, “How lucky you are to have her! She’s so sweet and kind.”
I know.
Makes me teary just thinking about it.
My son is every bit as wonderful, btw. ![]()
…I think I’ve just completely lost all affection for blog hopping. I stopped doing it months ago when I found it to be depressing. I haven’t missed it.
Then tonight a friend sent me a link to a blog that linked to another, and another, which finally led me to a trainwreck that made my stomach clench up in a knot. I’ve got to write and now I’ll have to take a few minutes to settle my tummy.
None of it had anything to do with me or with anyone I know, but after reading 40 mins. of negativity (I’m a rubbernecker, I guess. Who knew?) , I’m not feeling so hot. ![]()
Just got back from my local Borders store.
Interestingly, they have a new “Erotica” section. There–next to several Penthouse books–were the Ellora’s Cave titles (including ALL SHE WANTS–the Pocket Books-distributed anthology), three Samhain books (GYPSY HEART by Sasha White was one of them!), Aphrodisia titles (the original WOLF TALES, PASSION, and a couple Noelle Mack books), and Avon Red (they had SWEPT AWAY and SUGAR & SPICE).
Brava, Triskelion, Black Lace, and Cerridwen Press titles were in the romance section.
