Thirteen Things I’m Looking Forward to in January
(in no particular order)
1.) Getting ARCs of ALLURING TALES
2.) Watching THE BLACK DAHLIA (I haven’t watched a movie in a long time and that’s the one presently rented from Blockbuster)
3.) Receiving my RITA box (You can see which books you’re getting if you login to the RWA site and check under “My Contest”)
4.) Finishing one of my incomplete, deadlined manuscripts
5.) Checking out the posters I had made for PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT (BTW, have you checked out the latest excerpt? It’s flash and very cool, IMHO. *g*)
6.) Having my kids go back to school. (that happened today! Yay! *g*)
7.) Getting our taxes out of the way. (we usually get money back, but this is the first year I had to pay quarterly taxes on my royalties, so we’ll see how that goes)
8.) Reading my RITA books. (It’s about the only time when I can read and not feel guilty. *g*)
9.) Sending my sister her birthday gift. I wish she was going to be home. I miss her.
10.) Receiving all the “greatest hits” albums I was suddenly in the mood to order today. (fodder for another TT!)
11.) Putting away the Christmas tree. (How sad is it that our tree is still up? *shakes head*)
12.) Buying new clothes for my trip to NY.
13.) Taking my kids to see a movie in the theater. Not sure which one yet. They’ll let me know when they figure it out. *g*

Karen,
LOL It’s kinda funny because when they first went on break, I was so excited about sleeping in. Instead I got LESS sleep when they were home, despite sleeping in, because I had to work until dawn to get anything done. *g*
Joely,
It actually makes me feel much better that your tree is still up, too. Let me know when you take it down. I don’t want to be the only person left with their tree still up.
Elisa,
I’m kinda creeped out to watch it, because I’m a horror movie wussy and when you add in the “based on a true story” business, I get extra freaked out. There are sites that have all the autopsy photos and stuff, and I can’t look at them. *shudder*
HelenKay,
Thanks! When the designer sent it to me and I saw the pics, I was like wow! *g* That’s the scene! (The models don’t look like the characters, but the setting and poses are perfect. She did a great job.)
Lara,
Thanks for the luck! I hope you liked the excerpt. My RITA books arrived today! 7 of them. I’m a happy camper.

Good luck with the deadline! I got my RITA books yesterday and THE BLACK DAHLIA is in my queue at Netflix.
Now, I’m off to check out your flash-y excerpt!
