I have a completed ms sitting here that needs to go out. But I want it to be in GREAT shape before I send it to my editor. So I printed it up, handed hubby a red pencil, and put him to work. It’s a fantasy for Kensington — my first Sapphire book. Hubby is a big sci-fi, fantasy reader. Robert Jordan, Terry Brooks, Anne McCaffrey, Piers Anthony, etc. You get the picture.
I figured I would torture him, because it’s a romance. Totally.
He read the entire ms over the weekend and then applauded me when he was done.
Said it was a fabulous book. “The romance didn’t drive you nuts?” I queried. He said no. He couldn’t put it down. (and I know that’s true because I asked if he wanted to watch a movie last night and he replied, “No. I want to keep reading.”)
“You’re afraid to tell me,” I teased.
“Nope,” he insisted. “Only thing I’d change would be the term ‘anti-grav crafts’. I’d pick another name for those, but I can’t think of what right now.”
Wow. It’s probably really silly to be happy your hubby likes your work, because after all, they’re married to you and are under duress. *g* But that made me happy.
I hope your week starts out well, too! ((hugs))

Aww, that’s so sweet. The best kind of compliment - to have your dh love your work so much. Thanx for sharing.

Wow… he read it! And liked it! Way to go!
My hubby has read one of my books. He told me he would not read one until it was finished. I think I shocked him. He thought it would be crap. hehe And yes, it was romance… straight romance. Poor guy.

Thanks, Charli! He’s only read one other thing of mine — my futuristic vamp series with EC, so he doesn’t usually read my stuff. (I was really nervous, truth be told.)
Hugs!

That’s fantastic, Sylvia! I always heave a sigh of relief when my husband can’t stop reading and loves the book.
