Less than a year out of the gate and Avon Red is re-releasing many of the titles in mass market format. I’m extremely excited about this for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that I think more erotic romance should be published in mass market. The whole “readers of erotic fiction prefer trade” proclamation is a head-scratcher to me. I’m a reader of erotic fiction and I don’t prefer trade. It’s expensive. I never forget for even a moment that every time a reader buys one of my books, they could have bought two of someone else’s books. (thank you!) *BTW, I’m running a poll on the bookshelf page of my website asking which format you’d prefer to purchase my books in. 81% of voters have said they’d rather buy my books in mass market.*

Releasing the Red books in mass market is an experiment. I’m assuming they want to see how well the books sell in that format. So, here are the covers of the upcoming mass market re-releases of the Red titles. And here’s an Amazon Listmania of the books. They all release July 1st!

I’ve been trying to email the photos of the cover paintings and my phone keeps dropping the call. I am trying though! Promise!

They still have artists paint the covers of their historicals and I took photos of some. Great, great stuff!

Yikes! Talk about having lots to do. The RT Convention is coming up quick and I’m still ordering things to take with me. I’m praying that money comes in the mail soon. (soon…soon…soon) I need it bad. *g*

Yesterday, Avon sent me one finished copy of PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT and it arrived today. They’re holding tight to the laydown date on the book, so I won’t get author copies until after release. The strict on-sale date is a new thing for me, so I was really happy to see the UPS guy today. I was thinking that I might not see the book in person until after it hit the shelves.

Oh! Great news! I don’t know if I mentioned how well ALLURING TALES: AWAKEN THE FANTASY is selling, but it’s selling HOT!! Yay! Thank you to everyone who has bought it and recommended it. Within two weeks after the on-sale date, Avon was happy (which in turn makes the authors happy) and we now have a tentative title for AT II — ALLURING TALES II: HOT SUMMER NIGHTS. Sexy, eh? As you can imagine, it will be a Summer ‘08 release. All of us Allure Authors are thrilled, of course.

Today I worked on cover copy for my April ‘08 Brava with my editor. (There are three Bravas coming from me between now and then — June, July, and Nov.) So that’s two books scheduled so far next year and I have a few tentatively scheduled for 2009.

But, back to the present. This week is the second straight week of no school for my kids, so it’s been noisy around here. Hubby was home yesterday with a headache. I forgot I needed a costume for the Faery Ball at RT and my mom is now scrambling to make me one. I’m sure it will be beautiful. I get my creative genes from her.

We have to finish our taxes tonight. Our tax guy started them and then I forgot a bunch of paperwork, so we had to reschedule to finish them up. I wish I was getting money back, but no such luck. Even though I paid estimated taxes and spent a small fortune on promo, we’ll be lucky to break even. What else? I know there’s more, I just can’t think of anything right now.

Oh, I know! I need to pick two books for the Brava Book Club! *smacks forehead* Yikes. Off to do that now…
