PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT has been selected as “Editor’s Choice” in the Rhapsody Book Club!
***Update***
I just got the call this morning that ASK FOR IT has been named a finalist in two categories for the HOLT Medallion — Best Spicy Romance and Best First Book!
My trip to NY was the first time that I’d met my editor, Erika Tsang, in person. We were scheduled to meet in Atlanta, but a death in her family just prior to the conference altered her ability to attend. She’s a tiny woman with a sweet smile (and great taste in shoes).

Sorry about the blur.

Note the piles of mss? The galley of PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT is in there.

What a view, eh? Sorry the picture quality sucks. You can see the church that’s across the way. To the left you can see the water tower above a building. NY is a dichotomy of modern and old world, with historic buildings wedged between brand-new ones.
On the widow ledge, you can see even more mss. The ms for HEAT OF THE NIGHT (Nov. 27.) is in that pile.
On the far right, you can see Erika’s magnet collection on the filing cabinet. She’s got some great magnets.
I could wax poetic about my editor, Kate Duffy. I really could. I just love her.
During my trip to NY, I was fortunate enough to have lunch with her and see her office. I’ve always had the best experiences working with all the Kensington employees and meeting them in person is no different. They are all friendly and wonderful. I’m blessed to work with them.
Honestly, I’m still a bit tired, so my brain can only focus on one thing at a time. Presently, it’s focused on my work-in-progress, with brief respites spent on promotions for my June and July releases and the upcoming Romantic Times convention. And I can’t forget PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT, which releases in just 20 days… So, please, if you have any questions, ask away. That should prod some brain cells into working.
Here is my fabulous (and she truly is fabulous) editor working:

The messy coffee cup on the edge is mine. Note the pile of mss. That’s not the half of it…

On the shelves below you’ll see ARCs — the red ones are PASSION FOR THE GAME, my June release. The light yellow ones are PERFECT KISSES, my July anthology.
I have another picture of the bookcases in her office, but my phone battery started to die before I was able to send them to my email. I’ll upload that one in a bit.
Something fun: Kate and I use the exact same wallpaper on our computer monitors — a tropical island scene. Calgon… take me away. *g*
PARALLEL SEDUCTION
by Deidre Knight
Signet, April 3, 2007
The author of Parallel Attraction unleashes the next novel in a series about an alternate world, where treachery can destroy the strongest of allies, the most loyal of friendships, and the fiercest of passions…
Warrior Jake Tierny travels back in time to stop a traitor in his beloved king’s camp. But when a twist of fate proves the mission unnecessary, Jake is trapped in a time not his own, with friends who cannot learn his true identity.
Scott Dillon may be the king’s trusted lieutenant, but he is also a man at war with himself, a human hybrid who refuses to succumb to the Antousian nature he abhors-and that Jake Tierny embodies.
FBI linguist Hope Harper refuses to let near-blindness keep her from joining the Refarians in their war to defend mankind. Yet her sizzling attraction to both Scott and Jake, and the strange memories they share, force all three to question the core of their beliefs. As their enemies surround them, Hope knows she must choose one man for all time.

REVIEWS
“There’s never a dull moment in this terrific series!”
– Romantic Times (4 stars)“I was on the edge of my chair with each and every turn of the page with this one. I hate that it ended because now I want more of the story. Each book becomes more and more fascinating and raises more questions. It is my fervent hope that talented Deidre Knight has many more Parallel stories coming!”
– Kathy Boswell, The Best Reviews“Just when I thought this was the end, Ms. Knight threw a curve in the story resulting in the upcoming PARALLEL DESIRE (October 2007). This series is filled with heart-pounding action, plot twists, passion and great steamy romance. I was hooked from the first book in this series, and I can’t wait until October.”

I’m back from NY. I’m still a bit wiped out — that 3 hour time change is a killer *g* — but I did take pictures and I’ll be posting those shortly, once I get them out of my phone (and have some coffee).
It was a GREAT trip, I enjoyed myself immensely and learned a lot. I’ll probably blog about one day at a time, starting with the hellacious flight to NY. *shudder*
