Reading Day

Today, I’m reading. I had a few things that needed to get done so I focused on those, but now I need to read. A lot. *g* (good thing I’m looking forward to getting back to it!)

What are you reading now? :)

Still sickly

Hubby is still sick, too, and it’s been 9 days for him. I’m hoping that doesn’t mean a long sickness for me. Yucky.

Regardless of the cough and persistently stuffy nose, I’ve been writing and working on clearing off my To Do list. When I get back to serious work (i.e. “I’ve got a page count and I’m sticking to it”), I want to make sure there’s nothing hanging over my head.

A bright spot –

The lovely, sweet Laura Drewry mailed me a copy of the Doubleday Book Club late Spring catalog. Inside is a two-page spread featuring only four books. The covers are gigantic. It’s the only spread of its kind in the catalog. The other pages feature one or two big covers with several thumbnails below.

Anyway, who are the four authors?

(in order from left to right)

  • NYT Bestseller Amanda Quick (The River Knows)
  • Sylvia Day (Pleasures of the Night)
  • NYT Bestseller Jill Gregory (Wolf River)
  • NYT Bestseller Bertrice Small (The Twilight Lord)

NO idea how I ended up there, but I’m STOKED! *g* I’m grateful to whoever was responsible for arranging that. :)

PASSION FOR THE GAME
releases in a week. :) Some advance reviews are in, if you’re at all interested.

Cold Again

Hubby came home Friday with a chest cold that had him laid up through Tuesday morning. My son caught it by Saturday night. It hit me around 3 PM yesterday afternoon. No idea why I have to get sick AGAIN! Ugh.

You’d think getting enough sleep and pampering myself for a week would make me immune. *grumbles*

Tagged by Nicole

K, so Nicole Austin tagged me the other day to list 8 things you might not know about me. Here they are:

  1. My dad has lived outside of the United States my entire life.
  2. I’ve traveled to France, Germany, the Netherlands, Mexico, Jamaica, and Japan.
  3. My favorite hot day drink is the Margarita.
  4. I was popular in high school.
  5. I was not popular in jr. high.
  6. I went to a Christian elementary school.
  7. In first grade, I won a piano recital encompassing 1-8th grades.
  8. I wouldn’t know what to do with a piano now.

Now I’m supposed to tag eight people, but I think everyone has already been tagged. If you haven’t been and want to play, lemme know.

No Manic Monday

At close of business Monday I will have taken 7 full days off of work. (though I did find myself writing 13 pages just because) I’ve been going to bed at a decent hour, which means I have more energy during the day. It’s been lovely. The break is fleeting, but I’m enjoying it immensely while it lasts.

My mom is visiting. Tomorrow (Monday), I’ll drop the kids off at school and we’ll putter around together. I’m picturing a leisurely stroll through a shopping center (with a BN) and then a pedicure for both of us. Should be fun and I’m looking forward to it. For the last two years she’s chastised me to slow down and enjoy life more, and she looks awfully pleased about our lazy plans. *g*

I hope you all have a safe and sane Monday. ((hugs))

Thursday

Another relatively lazy day. :)

The most productive things I got done were the mailing of my international packages (rates are about to go up) and the loading of the dishwasher. Oh, I did make it to the grocery store, too. By myself. No kids. No hurry. I bought next to nothing, but that’s not the point. *g*

Took a nap, too. No idea why I’m so tired. Unless my body is trying to catch up on all the sleep I missed over the last couple years. LOL!

I’m reading an ARC for a possible quote and lemme tell ya, this author can write! I’m enjoying it immensely and so far, she hasn’t pulled any punches, which I love love love.

I still stop and think “OMG, I don’t feel guilty for being lazy!” often throughout the day.

Wednesday

Still didn’t watch the movies. :)

Read a little, goofed around a little, watched a little tv. Shared a pint of Ben & Jerry’s with my daughter. Right out of the carton. It was a bonding experience.

We ran over to Barnes & Noble, too, just to check out the books. I signed 25 copies of PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT on April 29. Tonight, they had 7 left. I’m happy with that. *g*

I still haven’t made it back to the gym. I’m procrastinating. Ugh. I need to just go, but man… it’s been so HOT here.

Tomorrow, I’m going to pick one room in the house and clean it top-to-bottom. Really. I am. At least that’s the plan…
