Last Day

Today is the last day of school. Hubby took the day off and is golfing in the morning, then we’ll all go out to lunch this afternoon. My mom is here, so she’ll go, too. Should be fun. I’m looking forward to it. I may even have a margarita (although I really shouldn’t because of my diet. *g*)

It’s too hot here still. :( Ugh. We ran the AC yesterday, which is early in the year for us. I bought a slip ‘n slide for my kids last weekend and they’ve been having a fun time sliding and rolling around in the water. It made me realize that I haven’t taken them to Raging Waters yet. I need to. I will. Once I can wear a swimsuit with a smile. *g* This year for sure. I’m determined.

Retrograde

For those of you who pay attention to such things, Mercury goes retrograde tomorrow for three weeks.

So, as this gal says

There will be many delays, cancellations and postponements, don’t fight them try to take your time and not stress about it, although your frustration level and feeling of restlessness will be hard to cope with at times, I find that you can get thru it and may even make some accomplishments during this time, all machinery, electrical and things with moving parts like computers, VCRs, camera equipment, appliances, will reveal any weak links now, it is critical that you back up your files.

You should do this regularly anyway. :)

This week has been invitation week for me. I’ve been invited to speak or appear at several venues from now through next year. Some will require me to fly out-of-state, others are online, others in California. As some of you know, I have a fear of public speaking, but I’m forcing myself to get over it. I really dislike fearing anything.

I’m having trouble focusing on my WIP. Not sure why. I’ve been sitting here all week trying to get into it and it’s not happening. So I’m going to run out and pick up a few things (including another jump drive for back-up. *g*) and we’ll see if that helps get me back in the writing game later.

BTW, it’s HOT as hell here. Ugh. I’m dying. It went from PERFECT weather, to dry miserable heat. Yucky. It should not be 100 degrees in June.

(Note the copy of PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT sitting on the table in front of her to the left. )

Trying to get organized…

…for Dallas. It’s 4 weeks away and I just bought my plane tickets today. I kept hoping the price would go down, but then I started getting nervous. So that’s done. I started tossing things into my suitcase that I don’t want to forget or that I ordered for the conference and won’t need until then.

Still dieting and walking. Go me! *g*

Winner from yesterday’s giveaway is Sue A.. Sue, email me your addy and I’ll get the book out to you. :)

I just learned yesterday that SPELLBOUND: MAGIC & MAYHEM, the exclusive e-short that Cathryn Fox and I wrote for HarperCollins last year is due to release on July 24. Still no cover yet. I’ll share it as soon as I see it. :)

Got a Minute for a Giveaway?

Got a Minute?Today I’m giving away a copy of the erotica anthology GOT A MINUTE?, which has a short non-romance story from me in it.

If you’d like a chance to win a copy of this volume of 60 super-short erotica stories, just post in the comments and list the names of some erotica publishers whose books grace your keeper shelf.

Have fun and thanks for playing!

(btw… I have lots of Ellora’s Cave playing card decks and other miscellaneous goodies, so I think I’ll be giving them away here and there on the blog.)

The Fountain

Have any of you seen The Fountain? My mom and I watched it last night. We both liked it, but man… I didn’t realize the glass ball with the tree in it was a spaceship in the future until I read it on Wikipedia. Did anyone else get that right away? Did I miss something?
