**Day 1**
After checking into the hotel, Shelley Bradley (my roomie) and I headed down to the restaurant for breakfast. We ate with three of the lovely Wicked Writers members — Dawn, Nikki, and Dawn — as well as Jax Crane (a dear friend and owner of Romance Divas). That was fun. I had my first Lisa Kleypas sighting and let me tell you, she’s even more gorgeous in person. There were, of course, lots of authors scattered around the restaurant, which is a lot of the fun in going to conference — the sightings.
Then I went to the small Borders-run store they set up on site. I met the lovely and charming Lara Adrian and signed lots of copies of PASSION FOR THE GAME and PLEASURES OF THE NIGHT. They also had lots of ALLURING TALES 1.
I sat in the bar and had drinks with Alyssa Hurzeler, Claire Delacroix, Jo-Ann Power, Diane Whiteside, Kathleen Lawless (whom I adore), Jenna Black, Lisa Renee Jones, and a few more people I don’t remember right now.
Sorry. Brain is fried.
I stopped by the bookseller’s tea and met Bella Andre (who teaches a great Feng Shui class as well as writes great books) and Monica McCarty.
The Literacy Signing that night was lots of fun. I was tickled by the authors who approached me to sign my books along with the readers. It’s a wonderful surprise to discover an author you admire happens to admire your work, too. I signed next to Alyssa Day and we had great fun giving out our joint promotional item — tote bags. We’ll continue to give out tote bags at future events, so if you didn’t attend RWA you can still nab one at some point in the future.
Then I rushed over to the Booksellers’ Best awards and spent a few moments with my agent, Pamela Harty. I can’t remember what I did after that, but I’m sure it will come to me later.

Sounds busy yet fun. I love hearing authors saying how much they love to meet their fans - that has to be an amazing feeling to know people love what you do and want more. Keeps you energized, I’m sure.
