Several members of my family live in CA and for the moment, they are safe, but the smoke, and the ash in the air, is causing great problems (my nephew has asthma) but at least they are safe. The drought is bad enough, can't even imagine having to leave your home and not knowing whether it will survive the fires. And praying for the firemen/rescue peoples safety. May rain be heading your way soon!! We've been having a drought here in KY, too...and finally it has rained for the last 3 days. I remember going to school and "Smoky the Bear" being a prominent poster all over the schoolyard and classrooms. Its so sad to see what is happening...
