Thanksgiving here was awesome. Nice and intimate, with just my hubby, kids, and mom. The food was great (if I say so myself) and for once, I managed to have all the food hot at the same time.
The kids and I got our Christmas stuff out and our tree up. It’s the first time I’ve been able to participate in that since three years ago. (First-of-year deadlines suck. Seriously. Although I must say I’m glad to have deadlines, period.) The kids still decorated the tree by themselves, though, and it came out gorgeous! The ornaments are perfectly spaced and spread out evenly in color. They did an awesome job! We swapped out the normal dinnerware with our holiday dinnerware and it’s certainly feeling like the holidays in my house, even though it’s still 70+ degrees out here.
I still need to take a picture of our new bird…
I’ve been stuck at a spot in my ms for a little bit now. I tried to push through it, but I couldn’t. I knew something was off, but I didn’t know what it was. I finally figured it out, much to my relief. Luckily, because I hadn’t struggled too far past the deviation point, it didn’t take a whole lot of work to get the story back on track. But it sure drove me nuts for far too many days. *smacks forehead*
I have some goodies planned for you.
Starting on December 1st, I’ll be giving away a prize pack a day to one of the blog commenters. I have a box of books/promo items that I collected at various conferences/conventions over the last year and I’d like to give them away. I can’t say what you’ll win, but I have enough stuff here for a month’s worth of book/promo pack giveaways. Some hardcovers, some trades, some mass markets. Lots of paper promo stuff. All from various authors. Should be fun.
I hope your Monday rocks!

Sounds like your Thanksgiving was fantastic. I don’t decorate for Christmas anymore ~ it’s just me and it’s a lot of work! When kiddo spent a lot of time here I did, but it’s just too much work when it’s just me.
by Dev November 25th, 2007 at 9:48 pmWow - I’m so impressed. We never get our tree up until the weekend before Christmas. Of course we always tell ourselves it’s because we are waiting for Hanukkah to be over since we celebrate both, but nope. It’s because we’re procrastinators. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving!
by Lori November 25th, 2007 at 9:59 pmWe put up our Christmas decorations and tree this past weekend, too. The kids have so much fun “helping”.
by Andrea November 26th, 2007 at 7:15 amGlad you had a great Thanksgiving with your family. Sounds fun. I envy the 70 degree weather, could you send some to the midwest Sylvia?
I’m on vacation this week, with the intent of doing my shopping, and sending out my cards. I love doing that. One of my favorite things about Christmas is the cards.
by Stacy ~ November 26th, 2007 at 7:21 amsounds very good.
by kim h November 26th, 2007 at 10:53 amSounds like a great Thanksgiving. I ended up catching a cold or something from my nephews so I am not feeling so great now. I don’t know if I’ll decorate for Christmas this year.
by Jennifer Y. November 26th, 2007 at 1:23 pmI think the best way to enjoy the holidays is to have young kids in the house. Be sure to take lots of photos. They don’t stay young long.
Speaking of photos… have you finished the office yet?
by Sue A. November 26th, 2007 at 3:51 pmHow nice that your Thanksgiving was nice and that you got to participate in putting up the tree.
by RobynL November 26th, 2007 at 8:44 pmI’m getting excited for Christmas and all the good things that come along with it.
Jennifer,
I hope you feel better soon!

Sue,
Yes, I did! I must take pictures! I took pictures of my parrot today and tried to email them from my phone (my only camera at the moment. *shakes head*) but they didn’t arrive in my inbox. I’m going to try sending them to another account and see if they show up there.
Hugs,

Thanks Sylvia! Me too! LOL
by Jennifer Y. November 26th, 2007 at 10:17 pmI did a bunch of things this holiday weekend. Helped a friend who’s moving into a new home (who had no one else to organize stuff). Saturday I wrapped books/gifts at the downtown Chicago Borders for charity. We’re going to use the money to make needy kids lives nicer with gifts of their own. I took out the pug Christmas cards to mail since we have two of the little furballs now. I love this holiday the best!
by Laura K November 27th, 2007 at 11:30 amSounds awesome. Looking forward to Dec 1.
