The best gift in my stocking this year was everything. Every year my husbands tries to talk me out of filling stockings and every year I resist, and since he wants to please me, he struggles to find things to fill it up. It doesn't matter what is in it...only that he cares enough to keep the tradition year after year. Of course our home has stockings, and whenever relatives or friends stay in our home for Christmas, I make a stocking for each of them too…and fill it of course!

Maybe being from a Hispanic tradition, we found pinatas more fitting. We do a lot of religious stuff the whole month of December- Our Lady of Guadalupe, manitas, posadas, Christmas Eve and Day Masses, and then singing to the baby Jesus and putting him to sleep, that stockings just weren't that important to us. Now that they are young men, we fill them with useful things like razors, shave gel, toothbrushes, etc. But I always give them chocolate coins, an M&M man and some silly little toy.
