I’ve been called in for jury duty… again. Every year, without fail. Sometimes I serve, sometimes I’m dismissed. My kids have a four-day weekend, I just finished a book that I thought was going to kill me, and we get to celebrate it with a day in court. 
I also have guests coming in Friday night and I have the type of messy house a writer gets when they’ve been ass-in-chair for a while. Not that I’m bitching about our judicial system. We’re lucky to have the rights that we do. I’m just sayin’ the timing could be better.

I shouldn’t be saying this, but if you have an actual conflict/substantial hardship, the judge will dismiss you. Or, if you act all belligerent, the attorneys will dismiss you in voir dire. Anyway - I hope it worked out. Have a great weekend!
