Recommended Read! Absolutely outstanding! In The Flesh is everything I want in a futuristic romance. Livia Dare seamlessly creates a world that literally draws you in. With an emotional connection between Sapphire and Wulfric that leaps from the page. Sexy and filled with adventure In The Flesh simply rocks. Book 2 in this series can’t come soon enough for me!

Recommended Read! In the Flesh, the first in the Sapphire Trilogy, was an engaging and very erotic fantasy. Wulf and Sapphire’s smoldering attraction toward one another set the pages on fire and it kept this reader eagerly turning the page to read more. I also thought their characters worked well together in that they were both warriors at heart and yet they were both looking for that someone whom they could truly love. If you are looking for an engaging and erotic fantasy romance, I would most definitely recommend this book.

In the Flesh was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I was surprised to discover that Livia Dare is actually a pseudonym for noted author Sylvia Day. Ms. Day’s alternate world where concubines are respected and honored for their service is a fascinating premise… If you like futuristic/fantasy books, I recommend that you read In the Flesh.

…I really liked it. It’s a nice mix of fantasy, futuristic, and historical elements and the book totally caught me off guard. To be honest I am not an avid reader of fantasy, not even fantasy romance, but I must admit I have to readjust that statement after reading IN THE FLESH. The writing was masterful, it was fast-paced, it had suspense, it had humor, and it had a love story that was excellently told. Livia Dare had a surprise for me at every turn. There were moments I thought I knew where she was going with the story, but then she’d throw in something totally unpredictable. IN THE FLESH is a perfect mix of great characterization, action, and old school romance. It is lush, emotionally gripping, and definitely red hot. She has created an elaborate world that has a lot of potential for future books of this trilogy. I am glad I had the pleasure to review this book…

In The Flesh kept me interested from start to finish. Sapphire is a strong female character. She’s a great warrior but apart from being physically kick-ass, she is mentally strong and she allows Wulfric to play the overbearing male only when it suits her; she allows him to overtake her only when she wants to be captured. Grade: B-

IN THE FLESH is a unique erotic novel in that it has a true story to tell beyond the intimate details of passion between the two protagonists. With espionage, conspiracies, and battles, IN THE FLESH is also a tale of two warring countries struggling for the greater foothold in a futuristic world. The attraction and romance between Sapphire and Wulfric is central and integral to the tale, creating a heavy amount of tension throughout; the flaming scenes of passion are intense and sure to keep readers heated long after reading.

The chemistry between this pair is undeniable as the reader is taken on an explosive sexual and sensual journey from instant lust to loving tenderness. There is explicit language and graphic description in Wulf and Katie’s story as the pair cannot get enough of each other regardless of wherever they are. The focus of the story is the relationship and the things that happen are peripheral to the relationship. It is the type of story I like to read.

Livia Dare has written an amazing story in a futuristic landscape that is a compelling and fascinating. The love between the 2 star crossed lovers is a delight for the senses. I highly recommend this story for those who love paranormal and futuristic romances with some very racy scenes! I thoroughly enjoyed this sensual story.

IN THE FLESH is the first book of the Sapphire trilogy; it blends intrigue, lust and love. What a great combination! Wulfric and Sapphire struggle to contain their forbidden romance, as their countries are on the brink of war. The chemistry between them is electric. She’s a trained concubine and he’s an accomplished warrior. Together, it’s a sensual concoction that heats up the pages whenever they are together. Even as the sex sizzles, we can feel the emotions as they struggle against their feelings for each other. We’re treated to the tender side of each as they explore their feelings and their love blossoms. Wulfric is the ultimate sexy hero; he’s strong but also isn’t afraid to show his feelings. Sapphire makes a great heroine; she’s feisty and independent.
